Waring Pro DHR30 Professional Dehydrator : 5 trays and a fruit rollup sheet included – works really well

I just purchased my second of this dehydrator. The first one burned out after three years moderate use. It has a good 5 year warranty which i voided by trying to fix it myself. Just call the company first. It works great no bells and whistles but very affordable. I use it for drying mushrooms, fruit, spinach, backpacking meals. It loses a star for only including one fruit roll up tray insert. I bought a couple food grade ones from bass pro shop and cut them down to fit the tray.

Save your fruit and veggies. Works well, has multiple settings, and fruit doesn’t get stuck to the racks like it did with my old walmart/ronco model–which died approximately one year after purchase, too. This wasn’t much more in price but it’s easy to tell it is much better quality. . Bananas, papayas, pineapples, mangoes, etc. Without worrying about added preservatives. My favorite is dried tomatoes with sea salt and cracked pepper. I let them get crispy and eat them like potato chips. Everybody should have one of these and stop wasting fruit/veggies. Just dehydrate it and save it for later.

I like this machine this is my second one. . This is the second machine that i have purchased. I damaged two of the trays in the first machine and it was of greater value to purchase a new machine as the trays cost so much individually. This way i have a total of eight trays and two basis so i can use both machine at the same time when dehydrating my herbs and vegetables. The machine works great and fast when on the high setting. I have used it for dehydrating moringa leaves and i will be using it for basil and other herbs. It works great for making kale chip. I got this at a great price. I am very happy with my purchase.

I bought this as a gift and my hubby loves it. He uses it to make jerky and dog treats. It tends to take what seems like avery long time, but it works great.

It’s a good product, but not silent. . It’s a good product, but not silent. I have nothing to compare it to, so i don’t know if there are louder models (my pre-shopping research says “yes”). After about a month of use, the fan started making a louder, strained sound — i gave it a little ‘knock’ and it stopped. A fun way to prepare dehydrated fruit. I found that a day and a half on thin-sliced apples and ~3 days on 1/4″ sliced bananas crisped them up better than the suggested 8 hours (leaving them still somewhat soft & prone to spoiling). I put a small piece of paper towel at the bottom of my jars that seemed to keep the fruit from getting moist. Also, i did like not using the lemon on my apple — way to tart, and they didn’t need iti would recommend this product.

So many apples and tired of making apple sauce. . Apple tree was loaded this year. This dehydrator has been use every day since it arrived. I am amazed at how quickly it dries the apple slices. I am using a hand crank apple corer/peeler/slicer to make evenly sliced pieces. I like the multiple heat settings for speeding up the drying process. The directions indicate it will take about 7 hours to dry a full load of apple slices but since mine are all evenly sliced, it only took about 4 hours. After an hour, i re-stack the trays so the bottom one does not get crispy dry and leave the top one moist. I do this twice and the entire dehydrator full of apple slices is done. I have added some cinnamon/sugar sprinkle on before they dry and am experimenting with some other flavors as well.

Why do people dehydrate food?. I don’t necessarily have a problem with the dehydrator, itself, but with the process of dehydrating. Not knowing what i was getting into, i bought a 40 lb. Box of apples and thought, “hey, i’ll dehydrate some. ” i haven’t ever owned a dehydrator, and now i know why–so much effort for so little reward. Even with 5 shelves to place the sliced food on, i was only able to dehydrate 4 apples in this thing. And it took 7 hours of continuous running in my kitchen to get to that point (following the enclosed recipe booklet). After all day of watching and rotating trays, i ended up with a little ziploc baggie of dried apples. Does everyone experience this who dehydrates food, or is it the result of this machine?.

Did a little research before purchasing this as a gift and this turned out to be the best dehydrator for the money.

I’m having the worst luck finding a dehydrator that will last. But this one lasted longer than any others. The heater coils always seem to be the part that blows out. None have ever lasted me more than six months, which i think is a very poor track record given the number of other kitchen appliances you can purchase that last practically forever. I wish somebody would make a dehydrator that you could easily swap out the heat coils like you would batteries or other wear-and-tear parts. . It would make so much sensei have no problem admitting that heat coils should not last forever. Just make a product that you can replace them easily.

This is the first food dehydrator i ever purchased, and i love it. It is very easy to use, and i have found it quite durable. I have made delicious banana chips and strawberry, raspberry bark according to the included instructions. All were easily fixed and tasty. I mostly use it to dry chicken treats for my dog sophie. I love it because i don’t spend outrageous sums for bagged treats. Also, i know exactly what she is eating. I buy skinless boneless chicken breasts and slice them about 1/4″ thick. They dry in six to eight hours on high.

Have dehydrated fruit and it works great. Have dehydrated fruit and it works great.

It fits perfectly in my cupboard and doesn’t take up a ton of space on my counter during use. I have dried several fruits and herbs in here. I’ve even made the fruit roll ups suggested. My husband eats a lot more fruit and we’re preserving even more than before. I am very pleased we made this purchase. Everything easily goes into the dishwasher for clean up. The base wipes clean with a rag. This seriously is the best dehydrator i’ve ever used.

Used it several times and it works great. My only issue is i wish it had a drip tray. I have to take it completely apart to clean it out in the motor area. As for the trays, they are easy to clean. I have had others that cleaning the trays was a hassle.

The best performing, great looking and reliable, dehydrator for the money. I’m absolutely loving my new dehydrator. I’ve been making my own fruit leather, kale chips, my own organic mango, apple and banana slices and dehydrating all my organic berries (later powdering them for a super antioxidant boost in my daily smoothies) this was a gift but if i had purchased it myself, it would have easily paid for itself the first month, in savings from the rotting organic fruit & veggies that would have been normally been tossed. I will never waste expensive organic produce again.I was worried this would be yet another kitchen gadget like my bread maker that would gather dust and sit unused. One night i tried a batch of 4 bags of goji berries on med for 8 hours, by the morning i had six trays of crunchy berries i could mill into a super healthy jar of goji berry powder for baking and smoothies. Looks great on the counter and is not loud at all. I have a waring juicer that is still going strong after 5+ years of heavy use.Waring makes great, reliable and durable appliances, this one included.

Did a tiny exploration before purchasing this as a reward and this turned out to be the greatest dehydrator for the dollars.

My second waring dhr30 professional dehydrator. I bought my initial waring dhr30 dehydrator and definitely like the success soon after generating apples, bananas, oranges, pineapple, tomatoes and jerky. Anything turns out best. I have experimented utilizing all of the options. Applying the higher placing, halved grape and cherry tomatoes are completely ready in two-three hours, 1/2′ slices of apple will be all set in 4 hours, 1/2′ orange slices acquire 7-8 hours as do banana slices. I use the lower options if i am re-crisping or leaving the dehydrator on about evening. I like the condition of the trays, they stack easily and are very effortless to clean with out scrubbing. My only regret is that a person of the trays slipped out of my hands while washing and the rim broke off earning it unusable. The dehydrator is nice seeking, matches on my kitchen area counter when in use and is straightforward to retail store when not in use. I bought my 2nd waring dhr30 for the reason that i was fearful following studying several assessments that the motor stopped doing work.

Quieter, lesser, i like it a ton. I experienced the nebco dehydrator in advance of — way too significant, took up way also a lot space, no area to keep way as well noisy, drove me crazy no on/of swap so bought a spark to plug in or out – i do not like the shock possible. This has on/off swap, as well as reduced, medium, superior is considerably, much quieter won’t consider up a whole lot of home and substantially lighter. Other individuals mention that items can fall down to the bottom – certainly real, but the motor/warmth movement at the bottom is very well guarded – just keep the liquids in the trays. I dried a whole lot of nuts immediately after soaking and herbs and many compact bits fell but no issue i applied parchment paper for some but have applied meshed material in the previous and will do that for the long run to give extra air circulation than the paper when drying smaller products. Searched everything in amazon about dehydrators before choosing this just one, and it is terrific. I would not simply call it ‘professional’ nevertheless, obviously a revenue gimmick, but nevertheless a good very little equipment for property use.

I am acquiring the worst luck acquiring a dehydrator that will past. But this one particular lasted longer than any other folks. The heater coils always seem to be to be the aspect that blows out. None have at any time lasted me extra than six months, which i imagine is a very very poor track report offered the variety of other kitchen appliances you can obtain that past practically without end. I want anyone would make a dehydrator that you could conveniently swap out the heat coils like you would batteries or other don-and-tear areas. . It would make so a lot sensei have no dilemma admitting that warmth coils should really not previous endlessly. Just make a product or service that you can switch them quickly.

I have to say i am not disappointed. Five trays are all i want and the. I have preferred a dehydrator for a pair of years. I have a close friend that has just one of the 9 tray $three hundred models that she utilized at her farm marketplace and that was the level of performance i desired. On the other hand, my price range did not allow for a $three hundred obtain, in particular due to the fact i want only for herbs, tomatoes and some fruit. I did the investigation for the lesser priced types & observed the assessments for this design to be really promising. Perfectly, i have to say i am not dissatisfied. Five trays are all i require and the efficiency of the dehydrating time & temp is initially rate. I would definitely suggest this products for anybody with fundamental dehydrating desires.

Functions good – not peaceful although. We did beef & fruit, there hasn’t been any cleanup challenges or dripping but we employed fresh new fruit & beef. It’s possible frozen fruit is much too watery. It is our initial dehydrator, so it is louder than i imagined it would be, like a admirer around a stove on medium or a loud disheasher. Thinking about it’s on for eight+hrs, that might be why it looks so loud. Creates qualifications sounds – but then again i like the television set at degree three when i observe it and if not observing it really is off. So it is probably not that loud, it’s just me.
