BELLA (14124) 6.5 Quart Programmable Searing Slow Cooker with Locking Lid, Chrome : A Working Mom’s Dream

This is not my first slow cooker, nor is it the first of this size. However i do have to say it is the first programmable one i have owned and i like it. Two unique features:this slow cooker has two unique features. Locking lid: this is handy if you move your slow cooker anywhere and i think most of us do. I can see us putting this in the back of the car to take to many get togethers. Due to this lid we will carry it with less worry. An aluminum pot that you can use to brown your meat in and that is also your slow cooker insert. To be honest we did not use the feature (to brown your meat on the stovetop), but i have to say the metal insert is light and easy to carry, as well as to clean and handle. Compared to most ceramic inserts when they are this size they are hard to handle due to the weight. This one was light and very non-stick. It also has nice rubberized bumpy handles.

My previous slow cooker as an old rival that i have had for at least 20 years and i didn’t expect much to change, but it really has with this one. First of all, i love that you can sear right in the removable dish. This keeps you from messing up another pan and also keeps all the delicious seared flavor runoff in the pot. It worked perfectly on my electric stove. The removable dish has rubber on each end making it easy to get from the stove to the slow cooker shell without burning your hands. There are also rubber covered handles on the outside unit if you needed to move the whole cooker. The lid to this cooker is attached in the back (can be removed with the press of a button) so when you lift the steaming lid you just need to tilt it back and it just stays up out of the way. There is one little hole on the lid for steam to escape and the lid has rubber around the rim and it keeps all the heat inside and also has a latch securely fastens it down. With that being said, this little baby cooked our roast in about 3. To where my other slow cooker took over 6 hours. It has preset programs to what type of dish you are cooking and you just hit start and not worry about it. I was really shocked at how efficient it was and how it didn’t heat the house up while cooking (a nice thing in a texas summer). Clean up was easy and i am very pleased with this slow cooker.

The best roast i have ever made.

  • Love the item, not the company!
  • Great!
  • Great slow cooker! A great value, and a big step up from the tried-and-true Crock Pot, especially for someone who uses it a lot!

Love the light weight insert pot. It is great for browning/searing. The programming is easy to use and very helpful.

This is a nice size slow cooker that is programmable. The inner food container can go on the stovetop for searing. The finish is a nice aluminum that looks modern and doesn’t get fingerprint smudges all over it. The first time you use it, you have to put water in it and let it go for a while. This helps get rid of the new smell and wasn’t too big of an issue. Here’s some of what i like, and don’t like, about it:pros-it’s oval, and larger cuts of meat fit better in an oval shape in my experience. 5 quarts – which is more than enough to handle all my needs. -it’s pretty-it’s programmable- you can set it for the type of meat you are cooking, or for the time you want it to cook.

The searing pot is excellent. The lid has to be removed to serve out of it.

Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to carry. As others have noted, you want to wear a mitt when lifting the lid, or you might get scalded by the steam. The inner pot handles and the exterior can get pretty hot, so use caution. This being said, i love my bella slow cooker. I love that i can sear meat or sautee veggies without using another pot, and, more importantly, without leaving tasty browned bits out. I love coming back home to a delicious smell. I love how it heats uniformly with no scorching. I love that i can put the pot in the dishwasher.

It is a little hard to remove and replace the insert pan. And when you open the lid you have to be careful so you don’t “steam” yourself. When the lid is all the way open there is a little bit of a balance problem when the pan is empty. I will keep this unit as it cooked perfectly, the pan can be used on the stove for browning first and it is really easy to clean.

Light and easy clean up is so easy.

I got a slow cooker as a wedding gift 25 years ago. It sat in a cabinet for years and i finally gave it away. I had been seeing so many delicious slow cooker recipes all over the place, so i did some research and, thanks to many awesome reviewers, i got this bad boy. The searing feature is the best.

5-qt slow cooker is big enough to feed a small army or, as last used, cook a whole mess of ribs (5 lbs) for my husband. It cooks beautifully, and cleanup of the nonstick pot is a breeze, even after cooking sugary ribs. Both inside and outside of the inner pot are nonstick. I like that the pot can be removed for searing. Yes, you still have to use the stove top to sear, but you don’t have to dirty an extra pan to do it – just sear and then put the pot back into the cooker. The preset modes (beef, pork chicken, stew, high and low) are nice but setting the heat mode and timer are easy if you know how long and at what heat setting you want to cook. The preset modes help if you really don’t know how long you should cook that stew on low. I like that after the timing period is over, the cooker goes to “warm” mode. I love that the lid locks in place but detaches completely.

This bella programmable slow cooker with searing pot is an amazingly attractive, lightweight and sturdy slow cooker. Before, i wouldn’t think of bringing hot dishes to potlucks. My old cooker was too heavy and had no way to lock the lid in place, which i felt made it dangerous for me to transport while full. I was worried about the ceramic insert falling out/breaking (it eventually cracked). In contrast, this ultra-light nonstick (ceramic-coated) aluminum insert has silicon grip handles in addition to handles on the unit itself. The lid locks into place with a snug seal. *you might need to use two hands to press the front lid button. It definitely takes two hands to squeeze open the latch that removes the back part of the lid. This piece must come off in order to remove the aluminum insert resting beneath its two projections. This process is not a problem for the average user.

Company very nice to work with.

I’ve not actually used the pan/insert on the stove to seer anything, but it is nice having the option should i feel it necessary. So far, after a few months of use several times a week, i haven’t had any issues. The pan/insert has remained resistant to sticking short of a couple of scrapes in the coating that were put with an unfortunate knife event by a family member not used to these kinds of coatings.

The ring absorbs odors, and i find it off-putting. Also, to help anyone else not make the same mistake, it is a metal non-stick. This means it’s light and easy to carry and store. But, it also means if you worry about teflon-type coatings, it’s a poor choice.

This is quite a slow cooker. We have an old crock pot which has outlived it’s usefulness and we are moving on and moving up to the bella 14124 programmable slow cooker with searing pot. Every meal we have had so far has turned out magnifico. We wife claims this is fancier and easier to cook then her old crock pot. It is easier to clean and operate.

I bought it to replace an old crock pot (you know the vintage style one with the separate griddle tray) that i thought i loved until i got this. This is so convenient with the different settings. I never worry about leaving anything in there too long, nothing has burnt. I now make my stock and bone broth in this instead of the stove top because there isn’t as much reduction and i can trust leaving it alone all day or overnight. I also like that it switches it to ‘warm’ afterwards so you don’t have to worry about your food getting cold and becoming unsafe to eat. The only consideration is the lid gasket is very hard to get clean. There have been several times i thought i’d washed it throughly, only to still smell the previous meal on it later.

I use a crock pot a minimum of once per week. This slow cooker will be the fourth slow cooker in my cabinet. Tonight i cooked pulled pork with this slow cooker. It has a lid that locks into place. The timer and keep warm feature is great. You can enter the type of meat cooked and it gives you a suggested amount of cooking time. There are instructions to show you how to program your slow cooker. You can remove the aluminum pot from the slow cooker and use the pot to sear meats on the stove top. This cuts down on the number of dishes to be washed.

Love it, mine was very old and gave up, that one is so much better.

I was extremely happy with this crockpot at first. I love that the lid locks and is also removable. Being able to use the internal crock on the stove top is an incredible feature- beef stew has become exponentially more efficient. It’s also easy to clean and isn’t heavy like most crockpots i’ve had. Plus, the timer feature is really convenient. No more worrying about rushing home from work so my dish won’t be overcooked. One glaring negative for me is the fact that i’ve only owned this crockpot for four months and the coating on the internal crock is already chipping off. This is a deal breaker for me. I’m not going to chance having flecks of chemical coating breaking off into the food i serve my family. It’s too late to return this so i’m contacting bella myself to see how they plan to resolve this.

If you’ve still got an old crock pot from the 1990s, this bella slow cooker will be a real step up. It is programmable for a wide range of cooking times, stylish looking and easy to use. I’ve had good luck with stews, roasts and pulled pork. While there are some minor design issues as mentioned in other reviews (don’t sear on an open flame, like a gas stove), i’ve really enjoyed the ease and convenience that this cooker offers.

Smith’s DFPK Diamond Precision Knife Sharpening Kit – Love having sharp knives!

The kit itself is great if you know how to use it without instructions. The instructions of this kit are not very well explained especially if you have not used something like this in the past. The company needs to have better instructions for this product. Other than that the kit is great everything seems to be sturdy and will last a long time. You will have to buy more honing. I highly recommend this to people who know exactly what they are doing. In conclusion i recommend this to people that need a knife sharpening kit.

I’ve been looking for years to find an easy fast way to get great edges on my kitchen knives. In 20 minutes i am able to put razor sharp edges on 4 of my most used kitchen knives. One a 10′ henckel chef’s knife was always a problem getting a good edge. This system puts an edge that will cut paper thin tomato slices. Take a few tries to figure out, good to watch a tutorial if you can find one online.

I wanted to try something that was different than hand honing – hoping to get a better edge in a shorter time. This little kit totally impressed me with it’s simplicity and effectiveness. I had a great edge on several knives in a matter of minutes.

I’ve never been able to get a knife this sharp with any other sharpener. The first time takes a while but once you get the angle right, you can get the edge back very quickly.

This is a decent product considering the price. The stones are of good quality, but the plastic blocks they are attached to can split and break if you tighten the guide rods even snuggly. The guide offers two angles to choose from, but each side can grind slightly different angles. This is due to the clamping mechanism which cannot account for variations in blade thickness. The red plastic screw covers on the guide can also pop off quite easily. The guided serration sharpener is absolute garbage, but the handheld pen will do the trick. This will sharpen your knives to a very nice edge, comes with a nice carrying case, and is generally a good value for the low price. Do not expect this to be an impecable product. Depending on the level of hone you require, i would recommend getting a nice 1600/4000 grit whetstone as this tops out at around 800.

If you are looking for a sharpening kit that is easy to use, this is it.

  • Stones are good vice not so much
  • Perfect for those who aren’t professional knife sharpeners
  • Love having sharp knives!

I used to sharpen my knives with a pair of arkansas stones that i bought in 1986. While it’s an effective and time honored way, it requires you to be very steady, and keep the blade to stone angle consistent for many passes. Eventually, between impatience and arthritis, i stopped trying, and looked at alternatives. Nothing satisfied until i got this set-up. The rod and clamp system assures accuracy and repeatability, so as you get all your knife edges done, you will spend less time tuning them up after the first couple of go-rounds. Some people prefer just some water, or going dry. You don’t need a lot of pressure. Diamond cuts quite well, so use repetition rather than brute force, and go from coarse to fine to arkansas, and you can end up with blades that can shave the hair off your arm. Finally, yes there is some time involved, so listen to some good music, or watch jeopardy, (you get the idea) and you’ll have a great edge before you know it.

Finally, i am able to put a good, consistent, edge on my knives. My knives have never been so sharp. Pros:sharpens with a consistent angle. Cons:the serration sharpening stone seems useless, at least with the serrations on my knives. The carry bag ripped so i contacted smith.

This is a great, easy to use sharpener. I have used a couple of other sharpeners on the market but this is the best by far. You can put a razor edge on any knife and i mean a razor edge. I had one knife that i had sharpened, used and cut myself with and didn’t know until i saw the blood. The guide and clamp are easy to use and instructions are very clear. If you never sharpened a knife in your life this kit is fool proof. You won’t regret buying this kit.

This is a simple yet effective way to sharpen most any knife, particularly difficult steels like 440c and d2. The diamond hones rapidly remove stock, and by switching sides after a few strokes close to the end of the sharpening process, a wire edge can be avoided. The jig, which holds the blade and guides the stones, has been redesigned with pivoting wings which are more resistant to breakage than the older style from smith’s. Smith’s also furnishes a nylon bag and a nifty round hook and serration sharpener with the newer set. I like that smith’s has actually made meaningful improvements to an already fine product. I can also vouch for the responsiveness of smith’s customer service.

This sharpening kit is excellent. I had reviewed several kits and sharpening stones before purchasing this kit. I am very pleased with the quality. I have used it to sharpen my kitchen knives as well as my pocket knives. I have a fairly nice set of kitchen knives and was hesitant to use just any product. The versatility of the product is nice. You can simply hone an edge fairly quickly or basically start from scratch with a dull blade. The instructions are straight forward. The guide system makes it idiot proof, which is a good thing for me.

I received the sharpener and before i could use it i had to glue the arkansas stone back to the holder. Other than that the other stone are secure and sharpen all my blades nicely. The holder is pretty sturdy but be sure not to over tighten. I like the fact that you have the two options for different angles. The case is is not good at all. The first time i put the stones in the case the strap ripped and the bottom section ripped. Overall the kit itself does a very good job putting an edge on the blade but the case leaves alot to be desired.

My husband saw someone else use one of these and decided it looked like something he could do. The only thing he had ever used to sharpen a knife was one of those very inexpensive electric sharpeners. When i bought new, more expensive knives a couple of years ago, i told him they were not to be sharpened (ruined) on the electric sharpener. The only option was to take them somewhere and pay to get them sharpened, which is not convenient, and kind of expensive. This set works really well to keep a nice edge on your knives, it’s easy to use, and you can buy it for what you would pay to get all your knives sharpened professionally once. Also, it doesn’t take that long to sharpen knives. My husband gets it out every 6 or 8 weeks, and sits down and sharpens all of my knives at once. He’s usually done in 30 minutes or less. It took him more time when he first started, but it didn’t take him long to get it down to a science. There is nothing like having sharp knives, and surprisingly enough, when you are used to keeping them sharp, you will find that you are actually less likely to cut yourself.

He has sharpened everything from pocket knives to our biggest butcher knife. He has taken knives that are extremely dull with small chips and within a matter of minutes they were razor sharp with this kit.

This sharpener will not disappoint. It does it’s job better than any knife sharpener i have ever seen. Turn your knives into razors with this bad boy.

I started with an old chicago cutlery chefs knife that i’d given up on. After running it through the 3 cycles it was restored to good use. You can buy cheaper and easier to use sharpeners but none that will give you a perfect result every time. This system holds the blade at a constant angle eliminating human error. There is a setting for kitchen knives and one for outdoor/hunting knives. It even has a stone for serrated edges. Now i use it on my expensive japanese knives and they stay razor sharp.

Stones snug and secure in mount and clamps down very well on knives. Only wish they supplied a larger bottle of honing fluid as i tend to use quite a bit to keep stones from clogging.

The stones work well, but the quality of the vise is subpar compared to older smith’s kits. The ‘small blade’ notch in the vise doesn’t grip thin narrow blades well (think de-boning knife) and the plastic knobs self destructed after about 7 months of regular use on my kitchen and pocket knives. I ended up using the vise from my old smith’s kit and these stones.

Not the best overall sharpener, but it is very good for knives that other sharpeners dont work on. For incredibly hard steel, this works the best as the edge is hit perfectly every time, though it will never give a sharper edge than the work sharp or the sharpmaker.

It has its strengths and weaknesses. The stones are amazing and its a great product for the money. The clamp needs to be redesigned. The plastic rod guides that fold in do not allow for the same angle on each side of the blade. Its amazing at putting a new edge on a worn out knife. When the guide rods screw in to the bases they don’t align parallel with the stone and you have to pull on them slightly to align. But for the price of a single lansky replacement stone its hard to argue. If you’re super particular about your knife edge go with the highest priced lansky.

This is a great sharping system. I have already sharpened 2 knives, and they were completed in minutes. Straight forward and easy to use.

I love this system, sharpens knives well. However the clamp is not easy to adjust and is not friendly towards tapered knife spines and kitchen knives. Even without those factors against the clamps, they have a small clamping area and the guide backing for the clamp is shallow making it harder to place the spine of the knife and adjust the clamp. I was able to sharpen my kitchen knives with it, but it was not an easy task. Also the knife clamp system rotates and any knife with any weight will make the knife fall into a vertical position. This makes the sharpening of a knife a bit tedious since you need to hold the knife brace in a horizontal position to sharpen knives. Is this a deal breaker, not in my opinion. The oil cleaning solution is not all that good, and the bottle is extremely hard to squeeze in a controlled manner. But it this system sharpens the dullest of knives nicely.

At first, i was skeptical of the kit (sounded too easy to use). This really is easy to use, and gives very good results. I’ve sharpened old knives i had given up on, and sharpened both my kitchen and my mom’s kitchen knives. I’m very happy with the results, and you can do this while watching a tv show. The guide rods and angle slots make this a goof proof.

A great put together little kit that comes in very handy with it being a kit so small i found it to be very useful.

While this isn’s a kit for professional knife sharpeners it will without a doubt put a very nice (and polished) edge on any knife you have no matter how dull it is. The coursest stone is very course. While it’s not a file, it will shape an edge on pretty much anything. The medium stone will probably get the most use, you can usually start here if you’re just sharpening. The polishing/finishing stone is great if you want a pretty finish or need that fine razor edge. The kit includes 4 handles, one for each stone so that you can set everything up and lay it out all in front of you. The knife holder (butterfly looking thing) holds very tight with no issue if you adjust the three screws correctly which is not hard. While it mostly likely won’t scratch your blade, if you’re sharpening a very nice knife or one with a finish i would recomment putting a double folded paper towel between the blade and the holder. With the tools included, a tiny bit of patience, and a steady hand you can put a razor edge on anything.

This is a great product so far. I received it a couple of days ago, earlier than expected. I opened it and examined everything and it all looked good with one exception. The rods that attach to the stones had rust on them, which really is not a big deal to me. Last night, i sat outside, smoked a rad cigar and tested this kit out. I really put it to the test. I have a realllllly old buck knife that my dad gave me, the edge might as well have been blunt, it was weak. As of now it has a razor sharp edge on it. I followed the instructions provided with this kit, started with the course stone and went all the way down the line. I also used an old leather belt to polish it up after i was finished, prior to that it was pretty damn sharp but afterwards it was perfect.

The case that comes with it is a little wonky, but it works pretty well after you wear the elastic bands in. I wasn’t that sure about the plastic guides, but they’re working pretty well so far. The instructions that come with it are well written and thought out. I wouldn’t hesitate to suggest this product.

Takes a bit of time to set up and i find it a little clumsy but that could be me. I like smiths and i believe this to be of good quality.

My husband is the one who ordered this and he is a happy camper with how it works. It is small enough to store in the cabinet without taking up a lot of space. It was explained well in the instructions how to use it. Now our old knives we’ve had for over 20 years are sharper than the new one i just purchased in replacement of a lost one. He’s happy, and i have sharp knives.

Stones are good and well suited to supper hard damascus forged steel blade. I like the combination of diamond and arkansas stones to get a great edge. It sharpens my regular wustoff blade very quickly and easily but my hands cramp up terribly trying to hold it and the vise is not suited be held in a bench vise or used on a table. The knife vise is terrible and almost useless on large blades other than it does assure you hold the correct stone/blade angle. The ergonomics of holding the vise and knife suck. I wish i could have tried it first i would have bought a better kit. Right now i’m inclined toward an edge pro which my brother has and i’ve used but i think it is too expensive for what you get. There must be something between these two systems that is more reasonably price and combines the best of both.

This sharpening kit works great on most knives up to my 9 inch blades. Leaves a very nice edge along the blade. I will buy the stand adapter to make sharpening much faster and easier.

I have never sharpened a knife in my life, but after reading the intructions this was so easy. Put a razor edge on an old beat up kitchen knife and my wife was very please. She even let me sharpen her favorite knife. Very easy and works flawless.

Everything fits in handy pouch. In truth most people wont really need more than two of the stones included with the set. But it’s simple to use and works well for my pocket knives. Within in minutes, anyone can achieve a razor’s edge. I start with this set, then finish with arkansas black which is a finer stone that what’s included in the kit, an arkansas soft.

I have a set of high-end knives that were getting a little dull, so i decided to give this set a try. Since it has 2 set angles it will take a while to get your knives to match this new angle exactly. Once you use the rough diamond to do that, the rest is quite quick. Now i just sharpen my knives for about 1-2 minutes each every 4 months and they stay sharper than they were when i bought them. I also sharpen my pocket knife and whenever i let someone use it they comment on how sharp it is. It’s on of those things that you don’t realize until you have experienced it. I’ll never be able to go back to a semi-sharp knife again.

After several months of use, i have found that i can get a better edge just using the stones without the guide. Unfortunately, it seems like it will last a long time as i now wish i had purchased the set with the longer stones.

The quality of this kit does not seem all that great, but it does a pretty good job sharpening knives. It is a slow process if you have a lot of sharpening to do. Call me lazy or impatient, but i got tired of it and bought the work sharp knife and tool sharpener.

I sharpened a few dull knives, including a kitchen knife, to be very sharp. After practicing a few times on my old knife, i was able to sharpen few more knifes without much problems. Depending on the metal and initial sharpness, i started out with either the yellow color stick or orange color stick, then to the red one (fine arkansas stone). Sometimes, it takes a few cycles to get to the desired sharpness but nonetheless, i was able to sharpened them all. Only problem with this product is that if you have really thick (over 5mm) or narrow (less than 2cm), it doesn’t work quite well. Moreover, if you have re-curve blades, this won’t work either. Another thing i notice is that if you don’t apply the same pressure for each stroke, it can leave uneven marks on the edge. I wish the product came with a finer finishing stick (perhaps 1500 grit stone) to smooth out the edges better and some kind of protection on its jaw to protect the knives from getting bite marks. In overall, i am satisfied with the product for its ability to sharpen the most of blade types.

Item was exactly as described and came in the retail packaging. Seems to work as described, have only used it once due to i lost 🙁 the knife i bought it for before it arrived. The one time i used it the knife was sharper than when i started.

I have been sharpening knives with combination of by hand and using one of the sharpeners where you swipe the knife through them. In general, the results have been pretty unsatisfying. I was not sure about this kit, but i really wanted to get some sharper knives. This kit did a great job on the knives for non-serrated blades. The process is that you attach the clamp to the back of the blade and screw one of the hooked rods into the end of the sharpening stone. Then the hooked rod holds the angle of the sharpening stone and blade constant as you sharpen the knife. I actually found sharpening to go pretty quickly and by holding the angle constant, the knives ended up quite sharp. The stones are about as small as they could be and sharpen the knives, but they are adequate. The kit does nothing to make sharpening safe, so you are still responsible for not getting cut. I played around with sharpening some serrated knives, but this was going to be pretty difficult as the angles of the clamp and sharpener don’t always work out so you have to play around to get the angles right.

I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend, who loves knives. I know nothing about them, so i stressed over how to purchase the correct kind of kit for his needs. The reviews on this set were great and i went for it. He loves that the set sharpens all kinds of knives, even serrated blades. He has had a great time sharpening his whole collection and has told me several times it is super easy to use.

They shipped item very quickly to afghanistan. This sharpening kit worked great. I used this product immediately on a couple of knives i brought with me here and it was great. It sharpened them very quickly and was very easy to use. I had no problems with using it and for being made in china it was great. Almost everything is made in china now so you cant get too picky.

I was told about this from a friend, and he showed me his, i liked it so i bought my own. I use this all the time when i feel i need to sharpen one of my knives, and i’ve even had friends ask me to sharpen theirs. This would make a great gift for someone who loves knives.

A christmas gift for dh – and i received the benefit. He sharpened every knife (which could be sharpened) in my kitchen and they have the sharpest edge they have ever had. Much better edge than typical electric sharpeners can give.

I have had the ‘other brand’ for a long time and just bought the smith’s but so far i like the smiths better. The clamp on the smith’s holds smaller knives better and the wider stones work great.

If used properly will put a fine, if not razor edge on all your blades. Comes with all you need and is easy to carry and store. If you get this, i suggest you watch the you-tube video on how to use it.

KRUPS 404-70 Open Master Can Opener – Amazing

This is, by any measure, the best can opener made (that was made) in the world. Because it has the only sanitary design. The blade doesn’t cut through the can into the food. It lifts the top off the sides of the can. This eliminates or greatly reduces the growth of bacteria on the cutting edge. It also eliminates the dropping of small dangerous metallic particles into the food. Yet, amazingly, no one makes this sort of design anymore. Krups walked away from this. The design is so good that it is a matter of time before someone clones this in china and starts selling a cost effective replacement.

It came promptly (within 5 days) and it works. It is certainly expensive for a can opener but it makes life much easier. I couldn’t bear to pay the price for a new one.

My wife is a stroke survivor and it is not easy to just an electric can opener with one hand, (try it). Not only is this easy to use but the fact that it does not cut the can top but rather unseals it means no sharp edges to worry about. I can’t believe krups has discontinued it. The seller was excellent too. Great packaging and delivered ahead of schedule. Here are the specifications for the KRUPS 404-70 Open Master Can Opener:

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Patented bladeless design opens cans without cutting the lid
  • Ergonomically focused
  • Measures 5-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 2-1/4 inches (height by length by depth)
  • Safe and easy to use
  • Limited one-year warranty

This has been a very good can opener i have had this for least 5 years. I think this is a good product which i had receieved as a gift and in turn given as gifts to my family and friends. It also allows your children the opportunity to help out in the kitchen without worring about sharp lids. I also like the fact that you can place the lid back on the can; perfect fit.

This thing opens cans like no other can opener. It leaves unsharp edges and a close fitting top. Instead of trash, you get a reuseable container. Then you have an nice, ergonomic gadget with a swell motor which begins to not work as well as it did over the past four or more years. All it needs is that little thing you put over the lip of the can. Daddy could fix this if he could get the part, but he can’t. I’ve bought my second krups model 404. Probably i’ll buy a couple more before i die.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Krups 404-70 – the best can opener in the world (really)
  • GREAT can opener
  • Wonderful! Oops, no spare parts.

The krups 404-70 open master can opener is the best ever, my wife has rheumatoid arthritis and loves this appliance, we would like to purchase 2 more but cannot find it anyplace. If it is still available, please let us know. A satisfied customerharold goldstein.

The unit provides a safe and easy method of opening cans. No more cut fingers as you try to dig out the top after using an old style opener. I am on my second krups unit due to a worn cutter after three years of use. Krups does not supply replacement parts for this item and, in my opinion, it is the only short coming of the unit.

This is the first can opener that i’v had that worked this easily. It is so easy to use, that i suspect that many have the same problem my wife had — its so easy to use that they couldnt believe it and tried to make it more difficult like all of the bladed openers. Just set it on top of the can and push the button and let it do all the work.

Purchased because my wife and i both have arthritis and have difficulty using hand openers. The krups is a little tricky to use but is very efficient and safe. Love not having the sharp edges as with other openers.

I have owned this product before. It lasted for quite a few years before failing. The one i ordered from amazon was an identical replacement. It is working satisfactoraly.

This review relates my experience, and anyone who tries the repair described below does so at their own risk. After about 4 years, our open master quit opening cans. The motor was ok, but the can wasn’t open after running around it. Being recently retired, i thought i’d give repair a shot. First i brushed out the opener head with a stiff brush and got out a lot of black junk. Then, i hit the bottom of the vertical wheel with some white lithium grease (in a pressure can with a tube attached). Black junk everywhere, but kept mopping up with a paper towel and blowing stuff out until it seemed clean. At this point the vertical rotor seemed to move into the case about 50% more than previously. The little horizontal rotor at the bottom of the mechanism seemed to be frozen. I rotated it with a tool and gave it a shot of lithium from below.

-to find i cannot simply order another-lasted for over 15 years but is beginning to slow down a bit.

We have had the krups 404 for maybe 3 years now and it has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. It is so much of an improvement over traditional can openers. The fact that no shavings get into the can that you are opening is a tremendous advantage. Also no sharp lids to cut your hand or fingers with. Since there are so many variations of cans to be opened we find an occasional one that needs a little encouragement (not at all unlike the previous top cutter one we had)and we use the hand opener once in awhile. Mostly because it probably needed more cleaning of the cutting wheels, which i finally undertook to do. It was full of metal shavings which were clogging up the mechanism and it can only get worse. I used a chemical agent to spray and remove them. Anything that is used to do this procedure is done at your own risk.

Backed by krups great engineering and workmanship. Opens cans quick and is light and easy to use right out of the box. No sharp edgesonly drawback to me is that it’s not cordless.

I wanted to express a few words about this can opener. With my 3 1/2 year old twin grandsons living near by it’s important to have a can opener that doesn’t leave any sharp edges (as they like to help their oma cook). I have had mine almost 3 years and have never had a problem with it. I wouldn’t hesitate in buying another one for myself or as a gift. There is one comment i’d really like to make-can openers were not invented or made to open garbage cans.

Before purchasing this product,i carefully reviewed every one of amazon’s customer reviews – pro & con. I even brought my own can of chili with me to the retailer for an instore demonstration, as well as a magnifying glass to check for metal filings. The krups passed all the tests and received the stores highest endorsement as well. With regard to the reviewers who complained of finding metal shavings in food after using the krups may i suggest they may be from the ax they had to grind about being too dumb to operate this great appliance.

We have owned our krups 404-70 for over twelve years and absolutely love it. As mentioned in some reviews, it took a few tries to get the hang of getting the opener to connect to the can, but other than that, this opener is flawless. So easy to clean, doesn’t take up much space, leaves you with cans and lids that do not have sharp edges, leaves you with a can that will not scrunch when you are holding it. I dread the day when our opener quits because i cannot find a new one, esp. At the great low price of less than $30 that we paid for this one. Krups or leapy lee — are you listening?. Please bring this opener back — there are several customers out here who need, want, or will need another.

This opener is much more sanitary than the cutting wheel type. I am about to replace mine again, for the second time, even though i find three deficiencies:1. It doesn’t last more than about two years. It requires careful ‘jiggling’ to engage the opener with the can. There are some few types of cans that it fails to open. But health considerations win out.

This is the 2nd one of this style i have had. What i especially like is it opens the can around the outside edge, so it doesn’t fall inside the can and the opener doesn’t get dirty. Just takes a little practice to get it lined up right.

I have owned one of the krups openmaster for more than 15 years and it still opens cans like the day it was purchased not to mention it still looks like new. I had bought one for my mother around the same time and the motor recently quit working and i cannot find another one to purchase. I would love to purchase another new one for her as she is 79 years old and she thought that if she could get one more krups that it would last her the rest of her life. I have bought at least 20 of these for gifts for family members and friends and they all say the same thing ‘i’m not giving up my krups’ i would easily pay twice the price they list for to own another to have a spare.

Can’t find this new anymore. Didn’t know you could get them fixed. So, bought this refurbished one and it works great.Hope it lasts as long as the first one.

S.Group Shake N Take Sports Bottle Blender : Five Stars

I love using it and the portable bottle is just genius. The flax seeds are a little hard to clean when i add that in my smoothies (especially all the way in the bottom but other than that, no complaints.

My husband was always complaining about the mess he would make trying to make his protein smoothie drink after his work outs, so this was the absolute perfect gift my kids gave him for christmas. He couldn’t believe that someone finally invented such a convenient and quick way to make smoothies all in one step. He had looked at sams, costco, walmart, and target, and although there were many mini blenders, you still had to transfer the drink into another container. With this set, the blender cup has the blade inside, so you just mix and go. The motor is strong enough to blend fresh fruit or frozen, ice cream or ice. You must follow instructions however and be careful to not blend for more than 20 seconds at a time, as to not burn out the motor. After blending, you pick it up and go. It has it’s own built in straw (the blade is at the bottom of the drink bottle, so its important to rinse it well after using). It is a much better deal to purchase the blender along with 2 extra cups. I guarantee you will need them. My 2 kids and myself use it all the time, at home, on the way to school, etc. It is a great way for them to add fruit to their diets, it’s both healthy and delicious. I will purchase more sets of these for gifts in the future because we are enjoying ours so much.

  • Compact size fits auto cup holder
  • High-powered base motor and spill-resistant, flip

Got this as a gift a few years ago. What i love about it is: easy to use, easy to clean, convenient for on-the-go meal. It really gets you to eat healthier without tons of cleanup. We have bought juicers in the past and never used it because of the cleanup. With this one we use it several times a week. . And it is still going strong.

Using it every day, the blender makes great juices and the plastic tube is good for every day use on the go. I learned how to combine various ingredients and making my own juices from fruits and vegetables.

A coworker demonstrated their shake n take and i needed one immediately. This little gadget easily blends ice and frozen fruit to make tasty smoothies to help keep my diet on track even while at the office. I’m probably going to buy another for home as the shake n take works better than my full-sized blender, and it at lot easier to clean.

Shake N Take Sports Bottle Blender with 2 Extra Sport Bottles : I buy many gadgets, many electronics, just many of whatever i like. Usually i’m 70-90% satisfied with choice and purchase. . But this shake and take is wayyyyyy tooooo coooool. . This is by far the best investment anyone could ever make. I have been using it every day, morning and evenings. Everything comes out tasting perfect . Use blueberry, strawbeeries, blackberrys, pinaple, etc. I usually don’t write review, but i had to write this one cause these people really deserve one.

This product can not crush ice, so freeze milk, soy milk, almond milk or rice milk in some ice cube trays instead. It liquifies some vegetables, but not broccoli. The consistency is not like a smoothie, it is liquidy. The lid has a flip top, but no straw that goes all the way to the bottom.

I’ve had my shake n take for several years and continue to love it so i brought this one as a birthday gift for a good friend. We used it on a recent vacation together and my friend loved hers as much as i love mine. I would recommend it for yourself or a friend.

. I hightly recommended the combo with two extra bottles for about 20 or 25 more dollars. Good as a single juice maker.

It is small, and works great so far. I use it daily to mix my drinks.

Bought this at the request of my eighteen year old son, who’d seen them advertised in an airline magazine. He has to drink protein shakes every day to maintain his weight for sports and these are amazingly easy to use, carry with him, clean, etc. We bought the extra bottles and were grateful that we did as he is now drinking two-three shakes a day getting ready for college football. He said that he thinks everyone will be envious of him when he gets to school, wanting to use them.

This is one of the few infomercial products that isn’t junk. I’ve used it easily and efficiently everyday for 4 years and can’t say 1 bad thing about it. Just use a pipe cleaner to clean the straw type spout and i usually just rinse and shake it full of hot water an it cleans right up. They better never take my shake n take away it’s irreplaceable.

NuWave Party Mixer – PARTY MIXER

I bought this product for my mother for christmas because we used one at my grandmother’s to make some of her famous ‘chow chow’ and she fell in love with it. I recommend any nuwave product because i have several myself.

I like my nuwave party mixer but i need a motor for it. The # on the motor is hc5430. Where can i find this motor.

Worked great as long as you hand wash pitcher lid. Though it states dishwasher safe it was not, warped and rendered the device useless.

I had one of these for over a year before i purchased this one and it works great. It holds a lot so i can blend up a lot of something quickly. I had to buy a new one because the top was put in the dishwasher and part of it melted.

Bought this mixer for my daughter and smoothie addiction. She had the little one but lost a key piece. This one is a bit large but she loves it.

I have had 2 and my oldest daughter wanted one after seeing me make salsa in it. Also makes fantastic drinks.

  • Item is what i expected but there was a problem
  • Awesome
  • Stop chopping your money away! Get this! 🙂

The party mixer is exactly what we wanted. The family will enjoy the treats we make with it.

Great product works great chops up food with ease no complaints & for being ‘used it came in original box still in bag i recommend it hands down works great for any type of processing if you looking for a blender i say this is hands down the best.

I use it for smoothie and this makes the perfect smoothies all the time. I also make my own salsa too mmm.

I have had this blender for about 2 years. It is indeed the best blender i have ever owned. Veggie burgers, milk shakes and veggies smoothies. It even grinds up nuts and oats in my smoothies. I use it to prepare probably 40% of all of my meals. I always hand wash it because i use it so frequently and today while drying it i dropped it on my terrazzo floor and it cracked. So i logged onto amazon to buy a new one. The internet is awesome for that.

I washed this in my dish washing machine & ruined the rubber underneath the lid immediately after one use (the rubber is for seal tight the lid while blending). After that the lid chipped out a piece as i hand washed it & accidentally banged it with other ceramic dishes. The lid is the hard cheap plastic material, easy to break. I still continue to use the mixer/blender in that condition for about a year, and now smoke coming out of the motor. It did blend the ice & fruit for me even though it was not very powerful. So i’m giving it a 3-star rating.

The first time i used this blender it was ok. I made margaritas and followed the instructions as best i could, but i still ended up with big chunks of ice that wouldn’t blend any smaller. Maybe my ice was too big to start with or something, i dunno. I put all the pieces away carefully and decided better luck next time. Well, the next time i tried it out it wouldn’t start. I tried different outlets, took the assembly apart and put it back together, nothing. There was a rattling sound inside the motor head and when i shook it slightly to identify it, the whole case fell apart in my hand. The little plastic prongs inside were all broken off (i did not shake it hard enough to have broken it) and pieces of spring and wire were loose inside the mechanism. So far no luck on having the warranty honored, since the actual case broke it was ‘user error’ and not the fault of the company. My guess is that it was either shipped poorly and broken in transit, or i got a returned unit that had been misused.

I use this often to make smoothies.

I have had this for 7 years. This is the best blender out there. I only came here to buy another one because this one finally burnt out because my daughter was grinding up oreos for an oreo truffle.

I purchased 3 for family members.

Item is what i expected but there was a problem with price. However the amazon team did an exceptional job handing this issue.

Very pleased with my new wave.

BUNN Nostalgia Electrics FFT100 Fro-Frutti Frozen Fruit Dessert Maker – Really easy to use

This product does exactly what the description says. I just made my first dessert and it was delicious. I used frozen strawberries and frozen greek yogurt pieces. The machine is not as loud as i had expected and really easy to clean. I really am happy i chose this over the dessert bullet.

The machine makes a nice frozen dessert out of fruit, but it’s very very difficult to take apart and clean. I finally gave up trying to twist the grinder free from the chute. So i make the dessert and then let the machine run long enough to get as much of the fruit out of the chute, then remove the chute/grinder from the base and rinse it out until the water runs clear and full through the hole. The instructions say to turn it clockwise, which i did, and nothing. I even tried it counter-clockwise, but nothing. This is not easy to take apart. But it works to make the dessert.

Great for sweet tooth craving. Here are the specifications for the BUNN Nostalgia Electrics FFT100 Fro-Frutti Frozen Fruit Dessert Maker:

Easy to use and easy to clean.

This is a really cool concept and the price is right. You do, however have to let the frozen fruit defrost for several hours before use. They make for a tasty treat, but only in small doses.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Follow the directions for Best Results
  • Really great machine
  • Everything I dreamed about and then some!

I love this, it’s great and as described. It’s so versatile and easy to clean, you can make so many different creations with this.

This is such a good little machine, we bought two, one for our apartment and another for our weekend home. Easy to use and makes delicious fruit desserts.

I had a yonanas that only lasted just over a year with regular but not heavy use. It was extremely noisy but i loved the product. I found the frofrutti and it was less expensive and had decent reviews. I thought i’d give it a try. It’s much quieter and works a lot better. You don’t have to use brute strength to force the bananas thru it and the product is smoother. With just frozen fruit going thru you only need to rinse it off. I don’t like the colors all that much but it’s ok because the machine is great. If you like ice cream this is such a good replacement. You would think you we’re having rich ice cream and its only fruit. If you like bananas and you like ice cream, you will love this.

Well built just put the fruit in the top (can even be mostly frozen) and out comes a great desert.

I was thinking of yonanas, but this one can do any kind of fruit and not have to include bananas. I use it a lot and am very happy with this item.

As an avid ice cream eater, this product is keeping me on my diet. You can’t get ice cream from frozen fruit, but what i get is a good size serving of a frozen dessert that is satisfying by blending frozen yogurt and fruit with no preservatives that is pretty darn close. Yes, you may have to mix your frozen dessert up after is comes out of the dessert make, but with practice you can perfect your mixture. I can’t wait to create my own recipes. I haven’t owned one of those expensive dessert makers, but there is no need if you buy this one.

Makes delicious frozen treats. Great as an alternative to ice cream.

I have been excited since i heard about the yonana a year ago. Then one day i found this cheaper alternative, and decided to give it a try. I’ve had this over a month, and i find it delightful. The texture is perfecthere are some things i’ve discovered:- the twist on part does indeed get jammed. After two different occasions of being unable to use my frofrutti for a few days, i figured out it is easy to screw that part on too tight. To unscrew it, i dried it off, donned some leather gloves, and turned it clockwise until it gave way. I am very careful not to screw it on too tight now, and haven’t had a problem since. – it needs to be rinsed off right away. It cleans easiest when the fruit is still frozen, otherwise the leftover fruit turns to sticky mush. I recommend a bottle brush to clean the inside out.

We use this for frozen bananas only and it works well for that. It comes apart and cleans easily too.

We have used all kinds of frozen fruit. Love it for a light sorbet type dessert.

Turns frozen fruit into slushies.

My 5 yr old grandson loves this and is able to help. He enjoys picking what fruit he wants to use.

Love popping in a frozen banana with some strawberries and you have a delicious sorbet. Can use anything frozen in it.

This little machine converts frozen fruit to tasty and nutritious desserts easily and as a bonus, it is easy to take apart and clean. I’d recommend this very highly.

My rating should actually be a 4. 5 but i went higher instead of lower out of fairness. I have started eating healthier and trying to switch my children to a more raw vegan way of eating is a little hard but this is helping with the ice cream cravings. Just add the frozen fruit (you should let it sit out for a few minutes just for ease of use) and voila. The children don’t even pay attention to the fact that they’re eating fruit. Love it enough that i’m going to buy another one for my parents house. :)the only thing that i don’t like is the size of the shoot, i wish that it was a bit wider like the one on the more popular brand. I’m a sucker for an underdog so that’s why i got this one instead of yonanas.

Cuisinart CGC-4BCPC – Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor – Great Lil machine for the price!

I use it every day, it’s so easy to use and to clean. It does a great job chopping as well.

Already used it to make crust for my whitevelvet cheesecake by gayle. As always, quisinart worked great.

Great little powerhouse – worth every penny. Here are the specifications for the Cuisinart CGC-4BCPC – Mini-Prep Plus Food Processor:

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Large 4- cup capacity bowl holds more ingredients.
  • Smartpower Blade; Durable, auto-reversing blade chops and grinds to achieve desired consistency.
  • Touchpad Controls; Easy to use chop and grind functions.
  • BPA Free; All materials that come in contact with food are BPA free.
  • Easily chops soft foods like veggies and herbs and grinds hard foods like nuts

This product vibrates a lot, so i have to hold onto it while it’s running, but it’s a great lil machine and i’m happy with my purchase since it was so inexpensive. I think this is the best machine at the price. I have a smaller cuisinart food processor that i purchased several years ago. It doesn’t work very well as most of the food stays at the bottom. But i’m happy with this product and glad i purchased it.

Great little food processor for the price.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Great in ALMOST every way.
  • a little bumpy
  • Great Lil machine for the price!

Great little gadget for prepping in small scale. Sharp blades and does the job.

I love this little food processor. I used the heck out of the last one and dropped the lid in moving so it broke the piece off that goes into the slot to make it run. I have a larger one but this is great in a pinch to make my cashew mayo and my hummus.

Ordered this for my wife who lives in our kitchen. She’s very pleased with how it operates. It gets 4 stars because the plastic container feels thin. Not bad, but borderline cheap. Perhaps that’s intentional for flexibility?. She did drop it on our wood floor with no problem and said she’d buy it again.

I love this so much but my is older so bought this as a back up when my current one finally goes.

Perfect size and functionality for the price.

This is compact but powerful. Exactly what i needed for making dinners for two.

I love my cuisinart mini prep plus food processor. I recently made chicken liver pate using my cuisinart mini prep food processor. I made two batches of chicken liver pate.I love my cuisinart mini prep food processor. I also chop nuts and graham crackers for cookie and pie crusts for lilikoi cheesecakes and almond butter (or peanut butter) chocolate frozen pies. I wish i could afford to buy a larger food processor. Maybe next year during black friday sales???.

I purchased this for myself about 4 years ago and it is still going strong. When my aunt saw how well it worked she wanted one so i bought it for her and she also swears by it. Thank you for a great little product with lots of heart.

I purchased this for two reasons. 1) the larger processors are too heavy for me. 2) saw video of how great they handle forward and backward grinding. It is true, it does grind forward and backward. It jumps all over the place. (literally) i have to hold it down, the lid comes unlatched which means it stops running. The concept is there, but there are kinks to work out. I have a 5 year old smaller cheaper processor that kicks this ones butt.

I absolutely love this little food processer. It does the same as my big one, which i do not use anymore since i have this one. It is a great product and i would recommend it to anyone.

She uses it daily for everything from pico de gallo, blueberry crumble, guac, hummus, bean dips, puddings, etc.

Liked it so much that i bought another, so i can keep one in each home. It was time to replace the ld ones & the best price was on amazon.

Great little processor at a great price.

Great little device, hefty for its size, a great processor for the kitchen and can be easily tucked away and brought out when needed.

I love the job this does however the bowl is so very thin and very poor design. I know no matter how careful i am with it the handle and bowl is going to crack.

My wife can’t say enough good things about this food processor. It’s her new favorite toy and we ended up in buying a second for the granddaughter. No more lugging out the 11 or 14 cup machine for those little jobs like chopping an onion or dicing up some chocolate. , the job is done it’s better than a ‘ron popell’ slicer/dicer .

Aroma Housewares ARC-996 6-Cup : Five Stars

I’ve had this for several years. Still works greatupdate: after almost 7 years, the rice cooker went kaput and stopped cooking. The funny part is, it was still trying to work, but i guess the heating element burned out. I do recommend this because i definitely used this rice cooker quite a bit. Several times a month, in fact and it lasted many years. Definitely got more use out of it than i thought for my $35 investment.

I love food, and hate cooking. And up til now, despised cooking rice even though i love it more than any other side dish. With a holiday gift card, i decided to just give a rice cooker a shot and chose this one. I find myself making rice in larger batches and freezing in 1c bundles. The steamer function is equally impressive and makes for a quick weekday meal of a fish fillet (salmon and tilapia have been done so far), which is great for someone who dislikes cooking. As i’m not an idiot, i read and followed the instructions to rinse the rice.

I was surprised to see how small it was than i anticipated it to be. I gave this to my mother as a christmas gift. It looks bulky but the inside is small. It does feed 4 people for around one cup each. I love that there’s 2 different settings for rice–white rice, brown rice, and steaming options. It does have a timer to set before you leave the house to be ready when you come back home. You can also cook it right away. I, definitely, will be buying another one in the future for myselfhowever, i took off a star because of the size and i found this at target for a cheaper price.

Did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. Also decided to learn a lot more about cooking rice and specifically cookng rice in a rice cooker. Purchased “the ultimate rice cooker cookbook”. Have been trying various recipes and results have been excellent. Knowing more about various types of rice and when to rinse and when to soak and when neither matters makes a big difference. I’ve learned to allow more time when using this cooker. Typically, 30-45 minutes for white rice, longer if i am adding other ingredients such as onions, shallots, other veggies. Made an orange rice pilaf this week which required me to saute some veggies in the cooker before starting the normal white rice cycle. The whole process took about an hour, but the end product was well worth the investment of time. I’ve kept our smaller rice cooker for when i need just plain cooked rice in 20-25 minutes, typically when i mix cooked rice into some sort of casserole.

  • Love it for brown rice.
  • Aroma keeps working
  • How did I live without it?

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Perfectly prepares 4 to 12 cups of cooked rice and automatically keeps it warm for hours
  • Easy-to-use digital controls for white rice, brown rice, steam and keep-warm
  • Steams meat and vegetables while simultaneously cooking rice for healthy, one-pot meals
  • 15-Hour Delay Timer is perfect for flexible meal planning— rice is ready right when it’s needed
  • Nonstick inner cooking pot removes for quick cleanup in the dishwasher

I bought this rice cooker to replace a cheap, drug store rice cooker i previously owned. I use it for just two people and primarily for white rice. It cooks two dry cups of rice without a problem and the rice tastes great. It can handle up to six dry cups, but i haven’t had occasion to make that much rice yet. I highly recommend this rice cooker for anyone on a budget. With the added bonus of a steamer, delay timer, and rice settings, you can’t go wrong.

I did not expect much from this product since in japan, people pay over 100 dollars for a rice cooker. I gave this one a try to see if it was worth it. And it was :)it’s not the best rice cooker out of everything, but for the asking price, it does what you expect it to do. I don’t think you could ask for more really, i have cooked brown rice, white rice, etc. Many reviews talk about making a mess but i didn’t experience this, at least not much. I recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive rice cooker/steamer, it is really the best for the price.

Didn’t know whether or not i would use let alone like this product. However wow is it simple & great to use. A must buy for anyone that loves to make rice in three simple steps. Measure rice, measure water hit on.

Ever since i first got a rice cooker a few years ago, it’s been one primary kitchen “gadget” that i can’t live out. Long story short, my old one died and since the aroma arc-996 got good reviews, i purchased it. I’ve had this model for several months now and i can’t say enough about it. I usually cook brown rice (usually japonica rice), but also cook white rice (basmati and jasmine), barley, farro, lentils, and beans in this baby and everything comes out great. My old cooker sometimes burnt the very bottom layer of rice but this one only has that issue with rice that’s really been sitting there on “leave warm” for a while, which is expected. I love the simple controls and compact shape of the cooker, and it’s very easy to clean. Sometimes while i’m cooking rice i like to make a foil packet of my meat and veg to cook right on top of the grains, making for the easiest clean up ever. I also like that it has an on/off button so i can leave it plugged in. Looking back at the product specs, i see that it’s listed as a 12 cup capacity machine. Personally i find that if i put 3 scoops of rice, it starts getting a little gummier than if i cook less at a time.

[updated again]knocking this down to 4 stars. Unfortunately, the steam vent attachment can too easily shed a piece of plastic on the underside. While the rice maker will still work, not nearly as well without that piece of plastic. Replacement vents are only $5 a piece, but it’s too bad there’s not a way to make that piece of plastic less likely to be lost. Interestingly, when you buy the replacement part from aroma online, it automatically adds 2 units to your online shopping cart. I suspect we are not the first to have this problem. [updated]indeed, there is new technology in rice cookers 25 years later. This model works flawlessly, and actually uses less water than i’m accustomed to using. (how they changed the technology of rice itself, i don’t know. ) brown rice, white rice, arborio rice, etc.

I have had this rice cooker for about half a year or more and it’s wonderful. Easy set up,easy cooking, and easy easy clean up. I will say that it’s only my girl friend and i eating and 2 cups of rice is the minimum this thing will cook which is alil more than we can ever eat. However we just scoop out and save it and use it in soups or reheat inside an acorn squash in the oven the next night. I love it for it’s “set it and forget it”. It also keeps it warm for many hours if you forget because your playing to much video games. Cooks brown and white rice with perfection imo. Wild rice too with the brown rice setting. I’ve yet to use this to make stews and soups which it can also do.

Rice, easy to make on the stove, yes?no. With this rice cooker you can make rice without injuring yourself, or your neighborsit is actually a requirement since chernobyl that all nuclear power plant workers are required to use these. Buy it, it will not disappoint.

I’ve been cooking for over 40 years and i absolutely love this cooker. It is an idiot proof way to make perfect rice. I bought 5 more for x-mas gifts.

Received the rice cooker today, washed it, and immediately made four cups of brown rice. The thing actually has separate buttons for brown and white rice–very idiot resistant. Rice came out beautifully with a very reasonable alarm tone.

I’ve had this for at least 3 years now, using it at least 4x per week, and it might be the most dependable appliance i have.

For a quick easy nutritious meal you cant beat it. I put veggies and meat in, 20 minutes later it’s dinner time. One note it doesn’t hold allot. About enough for two people or me a meal at night and take the rest to work the next day. I tried rice in the bottom, i let it sit to long and it got soggy. Still working on the timing. For a single adult male this is great. So far my favorite is mixed frozen veggies with spicy sausage.

Previously i owned a 20 cup rice maker by aroma. That one is more than a few years old so i bought this one. I didn’t need a 20 cup so i figured i would downsize. I have had this rice maker for about 3 weeks now and the rim of the pan no longer has its perfect o shape. It is now the shape of an oval. It has not affected how the rice is cooked yet. I do not think that this product will last for years like my old one.

Really good for the price to cook brown rice. The instructions included are valuable to keep because if you follow them, you can just set the cooker and forget about it.

We bought this rice cooker so we’d have the ability to make brown rice (healthier, more filling for you) as well as white rice and it works perfectly as stated and is easy to clean. It’s a great product at a great price.

I usually eat brown rice which takes long time to cook and needs supervision. I bought aroma to save time and to have a perfect rice. The rice cooker works awesome, although i figured out that more water is needed for brown rice (i add 25% more water than is recommended). For rice medley which has some hard pieces i use this proportion: 2 cups of rice i fill with the water up to line 3; this is the cup that comes with the cooker, and the lines are inside the cooker to indicate how much water is needed). Rice comes delicious, not mushy. I wish the rice cooker could be smaller, but it looks good and instructions are clear.

I use this to cook rice 3 times a week its very easy. Just press the on button then choose brown or white rice. The cup that comes with it is infer a cup size and i just put one to one ratio and it comes out fine.

Absolutely worth every penny. Already got my money’s worth out of it twice.

This is my first rice cooker. I’ve made brown and white rice. Rinsed rice till the water ran clear. Tried to make it with the vent both closed and open. Rice is always sticky and mushy. Grains are never separated, just all stuck together. Followed directions to a ‘t’ each time. I’ve never used any kitchen appliance that’s failed every single time.

Hamilton Beach Commercial Hamilton Beach HBH650 Commercial Tempest Blender – Hamilton Blender

After owning it i guess a year or so it has held up well and blends almost anything i can throw at it. The only thing wrong is the wave action will push ingredients out the top if the lid isn’t held down with a firm hand.

I’m a sales rep for the worlds leading frozen drink company. This is the best blender by far. We go through many blenders. This one gives you most bang for your buck. I’d take this one over some of the $2000 shaver blenders anyway.

My wife and i simply love this blender. We have used it for a few weeks now to make smoothies and watermelon juice. It is fast, efficient and produces a product that is smooth and creamy. I know that some people want texture in their blended products, but i don’t. So even when i put granola in my smoothies, it pulverizes them. What is also nice is the two step setting. It starts out reasonably fast and then takes off. And, unlike some, we don’t find it to be overly loud. After wasting hundreds of dollars on ge, oster and other blenders that were too weak, poorly deisgned or that died after a few months, we are so happy that we went commercial grade.

While i can’t believe we actually paid this much for a blender we rationalized it because we had gone through so many blenders that were recommended by rating agencies-they all died in a few years. Just for reference this is no. 2 in the cr ratings but i couldn’t bring myself to by the no. 1 because it was super ugly. This machine is definitely industrial strength. Because the blender jar is all one piece (i. No removable bottom) you won’t get any leaks like we did with our last blender. The motor is clearly powerful. It can produce a frozen drink from frozen ingredients in about 20 sec.

I have studied and read all the reviews that i could before purchasing my new hamilton blender. I bought it mainly for all my smoothie’s that i make every day. I love my new blender and really feel i made a good purchase. I recommend it to anyone needing a bar type blender under $500.

  • THE BEST! Can I Marry It?
  • Blew up after one year
  • Would buy again

Great blender rugged construction. This blender is built to last. A little noisy but the powerful motor blend whatever i throw at it very quickly.

It popped and caught fire in my kitchen. Don’t think i can get a new one because the warranty is up after a year. . Very expensive to replaceupdate: 7/7/13i contacted amazon via chat and they have asked me to return the unit to them and they will give me a full refund.I had the blender 14 months. I am so greatful because this blender is 500 dollars.

We bought the first one from amazon for $333 because it had been returned. When we first turned it on we got blue lighting and a small thunderclap as it blew a 40 amp kitchen circuit breaker. Amazon paid the return postage with a refund to us when they received it back. The next one we got from universal restaurant supply in florida. It took a couple weeks but was cheaper than amazon and we like the blender. I never thought i’d pay this much for a blender, but after breaking and burning out several lesser units, we’re hopeful it’ll be economical in the long run. My son does sports; this blends those awesome protein shakes his coach recommends. The rest of the family will probably use it for fruit smoothies in the summer. It also fluffs up hot cocoa; the plastic container handles hot liquids well, but have to be careful not to fill more than about a quarter to a third of the way or the suds will overflow the container. Also, the lattest unit has the on/off switch underneath, in back, as opposed to on the face of the blender, old style (ours did not come with an update manual, so this took a little looking to find).

I owned a tempest since 2001 and it still works, but we wanted a new blade and container and they have changed the design a bit, so we thought we would get a new blender. Costco had a blendtec on sale, so we bought that. It was 3hp and more watts than costco’s vitamix, so we thought we were getting the best (wrong). The lid dripped horribly and although it blended ice drinks fine, the smoothies made with frozen huge costco strawberries (and applejuice)came out totally smooth and with lumps of strawberries (big lumps). We returned it and bought the new tempest from amazon for $50 more. My smoothies come out perfectly in 15 seconds. I prefer them a little grainy, but i can also get them perfectly smooth if i want. Only 15 seconds and not one lump. This is due to hamilton beach’s wave technology.

We’ve gone through a number of blenders and this is by far the best. While expensive for a blender, it is made of quality parts and is relatively quiet. It works great for smoothies – the step setting starts slow then ramps up to a higher speed. It made a smoothie that was made with frozen fruit into a perfectly smooth drink in under 30 seconds. There is a timer that works with all settings so you set the time of the blend and choose high, low, step or pulse. It blends very quickly using its wave action. The wave action mixes the top into the blades so it cuts down on blending time and you don’t have to scrape or push items down to help with the blend. This is considered a commercial blender (be careful not to order the 220v version)but its foot print is no bigger than many home use models. The color is a very dark blue, almost black. Bottom line: if you want a blender that works extremely well and are willing to pay for it, you will not go wrong with this one.

Smooth Results

Ordinary blenders spin contents around the walls of the jar, which can leave whole chunks untouched by the blades. The Wave~Action System has a unique container and blade combination which is designed to continually force the mixture down into the blades for perfectly smooth results every time.

Powerful Motor

Built for durability, the 3 horsepower motor has an all-metal drive coupling that satisfies the demands of the busiest kitchen. A blinking red light indicator shows when the container is not in place, which helps to prevent wear and tear. Temperature gauge monitor alerts operator before motor overheats to prevent misuse. Blender features a cool-down cycle to quickly reduce motor temperatures and resume normal operation.

Jump cycle allows blender to start on low speed to minimize noise while large chunks are being blended. Cycle then switches to high speed to achieve a super-creamy drink profile. Timer shuts down blender after a set time has elapsed and allows for hands-free blending.

I have been bartending for several years now and have used several blenders in my time. At the bar i work at we use a vitamix commercial blender rated at 2+ h. With metal coupling like the h-b and works well. (25-30 second margarita)($300 on amazon) i used an island oasis ice shaver type that you pour 10 poundes ice in the top and is fully automatic (couple thousand dollars through i-o). This blender gives similar results in consistancy to the island oasis machine and is rated at 3 h. With a timer which is very helpful for a busy bartender. (electronic timer) not mechanical. This blender is more than capable of whipping up some of the smoothest frozen drinks i have ever gotten from a bar blender.

Hamilton beach hbh650 commercial tempest bar blender with 64-ounce is just what i need.

Old Fashioned Hot Dog Cart Table-Top – Arrived in great shape. Looks great

This small hot dog cart works very well. Unfortunately, the plastic on two bottom corners of the hot dog cart arrived cracked and ready to break off. The crack was approximately 1. I applied a small amount of super glue so hopefully this will do the trick and the plastic will stay in place.

I used this hotdog maker to steam the hotdogs on the boiler side. I used to canned baked beans on the bunwarmer side and set the unit on high. The beans & hotdogs were cooked perfectly. The hotdog buns i separated from each other and placed them in a steamer pan and removed the umbrella and rested the pan on top to quickly steam the buns for about 5 minutes right before serving everything together. I had a squeeze bottle of ketchup and mustard next to the whole set up. Worked great with barely any effort on my part at all. When my kids have their friends over, they help themselves when they are hungry and they love it.

Looking to get one does it come with the umbrella?.

Will use it alot at parties.

I ordered this item for my daughters bday party. I received it mid august and her party was not until mid september, so i did not open the package until this past weekend when setting up for the party. Unfortunately, when i took it out of the box, the entire back case (green plastic part) of the cart was cracked and broken. 🙁 my fault for not inspecting the item when i originally received it, but i was so disappointed because the item itself is adorable.I tried to return/exchange the item, but my time to exchange ran out last weekend. Other than the back of the cart being broken, i would recommend this item.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • This is a great product! 12 dog in one side and 12
  • Ecstatic with my purchase!
  • but I was so disappointed because the item itself is adorable

It attracted people to come over to take a look and strangely made the hot dog taste better.

12 dog in one side and 12 in the other. . Fed probably 100 dogs in 4 hours and only once had to use a propane burner to keep up. The steamer made the dogs that were cooked last a long time warm. I would buy 2 or 3 but one is enough.

I used for a event and put and one tray 15 hot dogs and the other tray i put the chili.

Met an exceeded expectation. Arrived before the expected delivery date, and i am thrilled. Everything i thought it would be and more.

I love this table top and would recommend to anyone.

It ended up being too small which wasn’t their fault. The dimensions were exactly as described. Ended up needing room for 30+ hot dogs.

Not sure how functional it is because i was unable to plug it up during my function i did plug it up just to make sure they did work earlier and it did get hot so i can see it working but can’t vouch for its reliability.

We use it at family parties and it is a hit.

I am receiving many compliments on this. . Heats wonderful adds such a touch to serving hotdogs with chili and cheese‼️.

It’s small, works great, looks great and you can def put a dozen dogs in this thing. My family and friends love this thing when i put this out when i have a bbq.
