Nostalgia RSM650 Retro Series 32-Ounce Slush Drink Maker : Inconsistent Consistency

The outside construction is nice and it does what it’s supposed to, but the inner bucket that rotates inside the salt/ice mix has gears of plastic. They “pop” and “jump” occasionally leading me to think the inexact fit may eventually wear out these gears. Other than that, works great.

I purchased this for my husband for a fathers day gift. It is easy to use and easy to clean. We have had a great time trying different flavors. Kids also love it and it saves me from running to get slushies.

I struggle to get a perfect “slush” consistency. I’ve found that putting whatever liquid i am going to use in the freezer for a while before using the slushy machine is really the only way to get a “slush” consistency every time.

Purchased as gift for my 13 year old grandson. He was delighted and was able to get everything just right to make a delicious slushie.

Quite loyd, but does the trick.

Works nice but just a little noisy.

Takes a long time to prepare and clean up.

This machine worked well and served it’s purpose. We used it when my daughter had her tonsils removed and it was very convenient, as we didn’t have the ability to run and buy slushies on demand. The motor works well, and clean up is easy. My daughter did comment that the consistency of the slushies we made were not the consistency that you get at stores. We are looking forward to using this machine in the summer months.

Product works, make sure you find a juice that has no water or very little – sugary and real juice. Other wise the mixture will freeze to the side of the aluminum vessel and the machine will go nuts and you’ll break stuff. I have read reviews of people having this issue and they don’t realize what is happening. The mixture needs to slightly freeze to the aluminum vessel and the teeth going around will scrape it off and the process repeats. Well, if you have a mixture with to much water and no real sugar, it will freeze too fast and the teeth will lock up, causing the plastic gears to strip out and pop and, its just not good. If you use the proper slushy mix, you will have no issues with this machine.

Work good, enjoyed using it.

Absolutely love this slushie machine. Use it for our home theater room to make icees on movie nights, just like at the theater. Works great, as long as you read and follow the directions. We liked out so well that we actually bought another one so that we could make two flavors on movie night. Love making mountain few icees.

Used as a company picnic prize.

Is it kinda janky construction?.But if you like slushees – it works really well. You do need to use sugar based drinks. You do need to follow instructions. Best instructions i found are these videos:part1: http://www. Com/watch?v=lig1pga5gpapart2: http://www.

Works great nice addition to the man cave when the women show up.

I’ve seen the commercials for the manual slushee machine that you have to spin for 5min. To get a small amount of slushee. What a gimmic, kids do not want to sit there and spin anything for 5min. The payoff is not worth the work. That is why i knew to get the electric as long as it worked. As long as you follow the instructions and don’t try to cut any corners, just watch the youtube video and do everything in the proper order and it works perfectly. I have read other ratings and the common complaint is the noise. I would say it is no louder than a blender. We also have an ice shaver that is louder than this.

It works quickly and cleans up pretty easily. I wish that it held more liquid, but overall, i like it quite a bit.
