Knife Sharpener Professional Kitchen Sharpening System Fix-angle : I recommend this tool

I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t hold the knife the best and it’s a little hard to be consistent from. It sharpened my blades very well. I gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t hold the knife the best and it’s a little hard to be consistent from on side of the blade to the other side when turning the blade. I would recommend getting a sharpener that clamps the blade once and the device flips over. I paid full amazon price for this sharpener.

Inexpensive, great, and does a nice job. . This third generation knife sharpener incorporates a lot of lessons from previous gens, and finally makes sense to opt for it over some other, much more expensive brands. That is not to say it is perfect – it is mass produced and you can tell, but it is a great sharpener nonetheless. Pros:the stones are very usable, and provide a very good finish. Accommodates everything from small pocket knives to large kitchen knives. Includes scissors sharpening ability. Cons:i would like to see a 2000 grit stone and a stropping pad included, but those are easy enough to find and add yourself. Sharp edges on the bottom of the base will mar your counter, so attach to a piece of wood with the provided mounting holes. There is a small amount of play in the bracket that the sliding shaft goes through, but it is minimal and can be adjusted by tightening the machine screw that holds it together. Bottom line:if you use your knives, and want a way to quickly sharpen them, this is a no-brainer.

It to an old cutting board and it works pretty good. I would have given it 5 stars. I mounted it to an old cutting board and it works pretty good. I would have given it 5 stars if it came with instructions. Searched on line to figure out how to use it.

Good value, stainless steel+clamp. Initial thoughts seem a solid product, made of stainless steel and has clamp that can be used for knife or scissors. 1 of the 600 grit stone has slight convex bevel, the rest is straight. If your stone are beveled i recommend to buy few edge pro stone or compatible size stone. The stone is about 6″ x1″wide (this is without the glued back plate), with back plate is about 6. The sharpening stone clamp without any spring tension is about 6″ from clamp-clamp, with solid tension its about 7″ (with some mod such as change spring you can put longer stone etc). There is no instruction so if you have trouble assemble it, search ruixin pro on youtube or search ruixin pro on aliexpress. Com which also sell these and some seller provide better video and pictures.

Good sharpener for the price. Good sharpener for the price. Much more adjustable and versatile than those other expensive sharpeners. Could come with a few assembly pictures to help with that.

It is a well made and solid product but comes with no instructions. I ended up referring to youtube to figure everything out. I highly recommend making a few upgrades. 1- make a wooden base for sharpener. 2- buy a strong magnet to hold your blades easier while sharpening. Place the magnet under the angled area. I used a 1×1 rare earth neodymium magnet sold here on amazon. 3- google a measurement chart to adjust your hight to get the desired angle. There is one i found that is specific to this product.

I was so pleased with the quality of this product and how easy. I was so pleased with the quality of this product and how easy it was to set up and sharpen knives. It took me less than an hour to sharpen a dozen of kitchen knives. I bought this set as gift to my brother-in-law so he do not have to spend so much time to sharpen with a water stone.

Modifications: screw it down to a piece of wood. I snapped off one of the stones and hot-glued magnets into the plastic backing so i can use my dmt diamond stones on it too.

It is what it is, and does the job ok. . If you fiddle with it in a vise, you can do a good job of restoring an edge on a knife – which is all about the angle. The knife clamp is useless, so either just hold it and work slowly or clamp it with a pair of vise-grips. The stone holding mechanism works ok. For those of you looking to replicate a $400 sharpener for $30, this is not your answer. For basic edge restoring, it does the job if you take your time.

Great option in my knife sharpening arsenal. . It is cheaply made, but sturdy (i did have to send my first one back because it was not properly threaded out of the box and the pieces wouldn’t screw together). It requires some time and patience, but it will get your knives wicked sharp with a polished edge. The stones are cheap and seem to wear out quickly. They also fill up with metal shavings in no time, making them less effective. I have yet to find an easy and effective way to thoroughly remove these metal shavings. Overall, i like it and think it is worth the money. I will still sharpen most of my knives by hand because i can do it much faster. However, for a few of my nicer knives, i like the option of getting a uniform, polished edge, which this thing can do. One last note, this works best on small to medium blades.

Size of it is not well engineered. I did some mods and it is useful now. Good for the price and parts can be used with my other apex like system. I was looking for the replacing of the some parts on my old apex like system and it works fine.

This sharpener does a great job however there are some issues. First, there are no instructions. Second there are no markings to indicate the blade angle so that has to be guessed at or do as i did. I cut out a 19 degree cardboard gauge and use that to set the blade sharping angle. I also marked the height adjustment rod. The third problem is narrow blades are difficult to clamp securely. But once you learn to use it, this sharpener can really make a blade sharp and i am happy with it.

I had some limited success with this, but found it more difficult to use than i expected. Getting a knife clamped correctly and securely in the fixture was not entirely straightforward. It comes with no instructions but based on the pictures in the amazon posting it’s not to difficult to figure out how to assemble it. I did work on a couple of steak knives and they were noticeably sharper afterwards. It will take more attention and patience to use this well, but i think good results are possible.

I was incredibly surprised to find this at such a reasonable price. It is what it appears to be — a very functional copy of a more sophisticated tool. As such, i have no complaints. Sure, it is somewhat cheap – but the basic function of sharpening knives at a consistent angle is well done with this tool. I did purchase the additional stones to go with it. Have not had any troubles with the glue despite all the dire warnings.

Accidently knocked off one of the stones from the base.

This is my first sharpening bracket its a good upgrade from simple whetstones for working on large knives. It took about 10 minutes to get the hang of it. Its well made and has a decent set of stones to get started. The sharpener seems fairy sturdy and once the angle is set for the sharpening arm it held it adequately. The finish on the base and parts is good, but it needs to be mounted onto a board for stability and safety. My impression after renewing the edge on a abused chef’s knife was very positive; it took about 45 minutes to get it worked back into shape.

This product arrived with no directions. This product came with no recommendations. The vendor would/could supply none, but directed me to a video clip on youtube, which was only assembly recommendations. Just after a great deal online looking, i observed obscure directions for a various design.

Mounted this to a board and procured some sharpening stones from apex. It is an remarkable setup for sharpening knives. In a very shorter volume of time i was ready to produce knives that could easily shave an arm and reduce via paper like butter. I have a station set up on my workbench so i can sit on a stool and sharpen up 50 % a dozen knives with relative relieve.

Situation -all the things arrived as explained, nonetheless two of the 4 stones were dislodged from their plastic plate that secures them into the gadget, simply mounted with some epoxy adhesive that i had, so not a substantial deal for me personally. Set up & use -no directions but it’s extremely very simple to determine out just utilizing the merchandise pictures below. Grabbed a cheap wood reducing board from ikea and screwed the foundation into position so that i could simply move it about, but also have a slip-absolutely free office. Pros -extremely straightforward to get a ‘good enough’ setting as the foundation you clamp the knife onto is a twenty diploma angle from the surface you have it bolted to. Assuming that whatever the sharpener is sitting on is stage, you can merely established the armature to also be level when resting the stone on the edge of the knife and you’re getting a ~twenty diploma edge. If you can clamp your knife in these kinds of a way that a substantial part of the edge is at that exact same peak (and so also stage on the armature), you can expend additional time performing and considerably less time shifting items. If you want to be additional exact for your beloved knife you can quickly do so with an angle gauge, but it really is awesome to have a simple setup when you want excellent more than enough effects that you really don’t need to have to fret about. Negatives -no cons distinct to this product, i imagine this is a sound products and good price for the cost. Over-all -i did lower two of my fingers when sharpening a substantial chef knife, the problem was that i moved my absolutely free hand across the table and throughout the tip of the knife that i had just re-positioned.

Is effective great after you figure out the ideal angle. Operates wonderful when you figure out the right angle. No simple way to do that without the need of a magnifying glass and some persistence, little bit it is crucial to do it correct–and when you do, this thing operates wonderful. You’ve got acquired to mount it to some thing hefty that will hold it down or rig up some sort of clamp.

It could use greater stones and a different further bolt for the clamping system. It could use far better stones and one more further bolt for the clamping system, some lines on the riser rod depicting configurations for angles would be good as well.
