Hamilton Beach 63390 Stand Mixer : did not seem to heat up and was easy to clean

I am so glad we purchased this. Just used it today, trying the sugar cookie recipe in the bake of the manual. This things creamed cold butter in no time and the cookies made my husband’s eyes roll to the back of his head. I think i’ll be baking more because i have a great tool to do so.

I’ve always been a fan of kitchenaid mixers. However, my next mixer needed to be lightweight and smaller to allow me to carry it in luggage to mexico. I have used it for cakes, cookies, bread, and mashed potatoes. It has performed flawlessly. The only slight negative that i have is that the bottom of the mixing bowl is not mixed as well as i’m used too. So during the mix i stop and use a spatula to ensure the bottom layer (about 1/2 inch) is incorporated.

The mixer is very powerful and does a very good job mixing all kind of ingredients. Christmas baking fas more fun and less pain thanks to this .

I really wanted a kitchen aid but let’s face it, the prices are insane and i couldn’t justify it. I’m an amature cook/baker and i love to be in my kitchen trying new things. I got this as a gift and for the price, its great. Definitely not as heavy duty as a kitchen aid. But i can hardly complain about that when its a tiny fraction of the cost. My only complaint is that the speed knob doesn’t click (except when its turned on which is the lowest speed) so you have to pay attention when you are turning the knob to a higher speed. From someone who has used a kitchen aid many times before, this is definitely comparable and will get the job done. I haven’t tried bread or cookie dough yet but if it doesn’t hold up to that, i will update my review. One other thing, the attachments aren’t as heavy metal as the kitchen aid. They seem pretty light and could possibly break if dropped or knocked off kitchen counter. (again, hardly complain able with the small price).

This mixer is made of durable looking plastic, has a very large unlock button, and a giant speed adjustment knob (giving it a fisher price my first stand mixer vibe)have had mixer a few weeks, and so far i’ve made cookie dough, cake batter, butter cream frosting , 4 cup sandwich roll recipe ( twice ) and a 6 cup bread recipe ( 3 times )the mixer handles bread dough fine hardly straining on the number 2 settingno grinding, burning smell, and it didn’t burst into flames at anytime during the mixing/kneading dough process. So far i’m digging this $73. ( i will update if it explodes or whatever mixers do when they go bad )update 3/9/17i have really been into making bread ( 6 cup flour recipe ) and have made the recipe 18 times now ( 1 to 2 speed setting kneading up to 8 min ) also made a couple more cakes and some frosting. Unit doesn’t get hot and no grinding sound. One tip if you lightly push down on the head of the mixer for about five seconds it’s scrapes up the bottom ingredients i mainly make bread in this mixer i’ll update if it keeps holding up to it.

I wasn’t about to spend $$$ on a kitchen aid for as infrequently as i use it – but when my hand mixer died i wanted a bit more. I’ve made several cookies and cakes, including a dense poundcake, since i got it a few weeks ago and have been very pleased. It is plastic, but the suction keeps it to the counter well.

Works as it should and extends the satisfaction i have for the hamilton beach brand. Slowly all of my kitchen appliances are being replaced by said brand.

Mixer arrived on saturday, and by monday and tuesday, i was baking huge batches of holiday cookies. This little gem is more than up to the task. The cookie recipe i used is very thick. I did 1/2 a recipe at a time, since the whole recipe would be too big for the bowl, and it made short work of it. I did give serious thought to a kitchenaid, mainly because of all the attachments it can use, and because my daughter loves hers and it’s lasted for years, but as a single person i just couldn’t justify spending that kind of money. I left a very expensive cuisinart mixer when i moved, and know i just didn’t get enough use out of it to justify the cost of that one either, as good as it was, so i took a chance with this hamilton beach, and i’m beyond pleased. It not only does a great job, it actually fits on my counter (a very small counter) with my other favorite small appliances, and i now have a work station where i don’t have to hide the stuff away in a closet and haul it out whenever i need something.

Excellent mixer for the price. Should do quite well for the home cook.

30, 2016: (edited to revise) the mixing bowl got ‘stuck’ in the mixer while using it tonight and in trying to pry it off, the edge broke off. Not sure what to do now since i understand you can’t buy the bowl separately. Other than that, i have loved this mixer. Gotta remove a couple of stars due to the plastic around the bowl breaking so easily. I am an elderly woman with weak hands so i know i didn’t have the bowl on too tight. June 2016: (the following comments were made soon after i received the mixer) used it for the first time today making cookie dough. So easy to use and all i had to do was push the button.

I was new to baking when i purchased this. Of course i originally wanted a kitchenaid mixer, but the price was too high. After countless batches of cookies, scones, and other bakes i can say i’m very happy with my purchase. I haven’t had any problems with it. Plus the suction cups on the bottom are nice. It’s pretty quiet allowing me to run it while my 1 year is sleeping (small house.

It is effective as very well as my $three hundred. 00 mixer that i gave my daughter. The bread paddle is excellent. The price tag was exceptional also. I don’t know why i doubted it would be best when i ordered it. I grew up with my mom and more mature sisters making use of a hamilton beach mixer. I could not be more happy.

I also have the silicone baking sheets. When i complete creating cookies the only mess i have is the bowl, paddle, cookie scoop, & silicone sheets. I never have a mess and hardly ever have to wash any bakeware. There is a plastic edge go over so you under no circumstances splatter.

This factor is fantastic for coming in below $100. This matter is good for coming in underneath $a hundred. Dilemma is the beater will not scrape the bowl so you continue to have to get in there with a spatula. Unlocking the bowl and forcing the beater to scrape the bowl is effective a little little bit but i usually have to pause the mixing to scrape the bowl.

Fantastic for the starter baker. . This mixer is effective wonderful i’ve built a cake & pizza dough with no complications. It is very well value the income for a mixer in this price tag selection.

Good stand mixer with beater, wisk, & dough hook. . I have owned this stand mixer for quite a few months now. It is incredibly simple to attach & eliminate the attachments, really effortless to clean the bowl, & use this mixer. If you might be hunting for a genuinely excellent stand mixer & will not want a ton of other attachments other than the basic 3 that arrive with it i remarkably suggest this a person.

I will not invest hundreds of dollars on a kitchenaid.
