This is the second seal-a-meal i’ve owned. The first one stopped working after some years of light-duty use. I felt it should have lasted longer, but i bought another one hoping for the best. This one stopped after only 1 year and five months (with, again, light-duty use). There is only a 1 year warranty. The heating element is not working. Update: i called the company and kim walked me through a solution to the problem. The soft rubber gaskets on the top and bottom of the unit can dry out. You can rehydrate them by dipping your finger in water and running it along them.
Had the older model which was a pain, for it hurt my hands to press down on it. I have lupus (ra), so this one is great.Great price, which saves me money, for i buy in bulk and freeze just about everything. Thumbs up for this product, and i usually don’t give that high of a rating. So, enjoy if you buy this one.
We’ve used this so many times in the past year or so since we bought it and it’s still working great. I love stocking up when there are meat sales and saving a ton of money. It’s so easy to use and very easy to clean. I can’t imagine not having one now that i’ve bought it.

“TRICK – USE IF HANDS FREE LIGHT WON’T COME ON
, Does the job
, No point in getting more expensive sealers, this does it all just as well.
Replaced 6 year old of same type.
My husband and i do a lot of freezing and canning. This is great when things are on sale at the grocery store.
Have thought about buying one of these for years. Finally did so befor christmas. It is amazing how much better things taste after being packaged in this. So much more flavorful and fresh.
You must be patient, response is slow but the new one i got (expensive) does do the job. The used-very good from amazon warehouse had no vacuum, it had to be returned. Got my fingers crossed on this one.
Overall i thought this product was ok. It does exactly what it says in the product description but the problem i have with this unit is it doesn’t have a separate ‘seal’ button. Meaning, it sucks every bit of air out of the bag and will not seal until it’s done. So if you want to seal berries or fruit, this may not be the vacuum sealer your looking for as it will likely smash the contents in the bag. Meats and such will be just fine though. Good sealer for the price if you don’t care about smashing the contents.
This product does exactly whast it is susposed to do. It seals and removes the airand i got it at a great price. The dealer shipped quickly and send the best product for my money.
Does not seem to pull all the air out to properly seal. Still got ice crystals in the bag.
I can’t believe how much food i have thrown away over the years. With this, my food stays fresh and i can precook ribs or other items, seal them, stick them in the freezer and have a quick, home-cooked preservative free meal whenever needed.Given that i live in a 2 person household, buying in bulk never made sense because the items would spoil before we had a chance to use it–not anymore. And, my bf loves pretending he’s shifting an old-school video game while it’s sealing.
I needed a food sealer for my house. Have had this sealer in my motorhome for many years and it has always performed very well. It will pull all the air out and then it will seal the bag tight. When shopping for a unit for the house, went to walmart and purchase a sealer. It did not pull all the air out before doing a good job of sealing. Returned it and bought another brand at walmart. It suck all the air out, but wouldn’t get a good seal on the bag and air would find its way back in. I purchased the identical unit that is in motorhome for the house and am very satisfied. I use the food sealer everyday, it has to do its job well, and this one does.
I use this only to vacuum seal mason jars(with separate attachment) and it does it well. Only issue i have is you have to press hard on each side for about 6 secs in order for it to work, then it works by itself and shuts off when done.
I looked at several different food savers before making this decision and i love the save a meal vacuum. I have had no problems with my save a meal and it has already saved me lots of money. I would highly recommend this product.
This is wonderful for cooking ahead or going to sam’s and buying more than you need. I have not used it long enough to tell how well the bags protect from freezer burn. When i am sealing something juicy that i have not pre-frozen in the bag, it does not get all of the air out so that may be a problem in the future. A few tips: if you are sealing only, i. , if you bought a roll of baggie material to cut and fit, only put the edge of the cut end on the heat strip. Don’t try to put the end down in the vacuum groove or it will never seal. If you are doing a soup or something altogether liquid, it doesn’t hurt to put the meal in the bag and fold it over a few times with a chip clip, then freeze for about an hour or more. After you have frozen most of the meal, then pull it out and seal it. If you just try to seal liquid it doesn’t go so well. Grab a sharpie and fill it out before you put food and seal, otherwise you will have a time writing clearly on the bag. To use the first time, be sure the juice tray is down in the vacuum hole (removable juicy catcher) and put the end you want to seal vertically down into the vacuum chamber. If it is vertical with the chamber and you then press and hold, it will be most likely to catch and begin to function properly right away. Sometimes it is a little quirky, but overall this is a very good product that i enjoy.
My mom uses it a lot and seems to be very pleased.
I replaced an old, old sealer that no longer worked. I was happy it still does the job.
This sealer works great, is easy to use and comes at a great price.
Everyone should have one (bought this for my daughter). Store meat to avoid freezer burn – store leftovers, reheating without drying out.
Though it’s a food saver, i expected it to work a little better. It seals the food sure enough, but it’s a finicky little thing.
Especially like the accessory that allows us to vacuum pack in jars. Works great for keeping coffee(which we buy in bulk) fresh. Also great for keeping home dried fruit in best shape.
Someone else i know has this model. I just happened to find the same & buy it. I’ve done several items (chicken breasts, spaghetti, beans & rice), nothing with liquid yet though and it’s been simple. I was surprised it came with the tube so that if i want to get the jar adapter i could. I thought it was going to be an extra piece to buy. This came with a few bags and there’s no extra parts to lose. 1 sealer, and a owners manual.
Was skeptical about vacuum sealers for a long, but very glad i purchased this one. We have used it many many times and does the job very well. Easy to use, definitely recommend for the value.
