Black & Decker BLACK – I’m pretty sure a jet engine is quieter than this food

Chops and purées vegetables and nuts really well. It just takes a little longer and is noisier than i woul like.

We’re happy overall with this food processor. It’s not fancy, but it works fine and is very inexpensive. The only complaint is that it’s so darn loud. It’s so loud that we can’t use it at night for fear of waking up neighbors in the next apartment, and whenever my wife is about to turn it on she has to warn me first so i don’t mistakenly think an f-15 jet fighter just landed in our kitchen.

A bit loud, but works great. Here are the specifications for the Black & Decker BLACK:

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Stainless Steel Chopping Blade, Slicer, Shredder
  • 8-Cup Work Bowl – Plent of room to work with
  • Food Chute with Pusher – Helps guide food towards the slicing/shredding disk while the processor is going, for consistent results
  • Dishwasher-Safe Removable Parts
  • Safety Interlocking System – Blades operate only when the lid is securely attached to the bowl

I like it cause it gets the job done , only thing its very noisy and pieces of veggies or cheese etc get stuck under the lid while processing but it works for me worth the money.

Noisy, but does the job well. Removing bottom center post assembly for complete cleaning can be difficult, if you don’t lube the snap-in locking clips (3) on bottom assembly with drop of olive oil, but if done, this assembly is easy to remove for periodic cleaning, since some food gets down the vertical post tube inside the blade unit. Over time, the locking clips tend to dry and become sort of frozen, preventing assembly removal. Remove this center post assembly by turning the large extended three tabs under bottom of bowl counter-clockwise. Easier to clean and use than the old and pricey cuisinart processors. Great device for making frozen banana creams with any flavors desired. First liquify one ripe banana and then add natural flavor, such as raw carob powder, then add chopped frozen bananas (into small 1/3 inch thick) slices. In no time you’ll have a tasty desert or much like ice cream snack.

) it doesn’t turn onthis model has two safety features. The lid has to be securely fastened and the 8 cup container has to be secured in the base. I made the same mistake and called the 1-800 number. She told me to secure everything and i proceeded to explain nicely that i had done that. She humored me and asked me to try one more time. There are tiny little buttons that have to be triggered as a safety precaution. ) you can see food stuck in the bottom external piece that you can’t get out because that piece doesn’t removeevery piece of food container is removable, including the handle. That’s what make it so easy to clean. I always warn everyone in the house that i am about to turn it on. Otherwise, i will scare the s^*t out of everyone. You are literally using it next to the wall.

Just the right size for a small kitchen. Just the right power for everyday cooking.

My old one broke and i thought i was ordering the same thing but it has new features that make it better.

Can’t say enough good things about this. Easy controls (i give it 5 *’s just for that) this processor is a work horse. I’ve given it a workout and it has not let me down. Can’t beat the price for a brand name appliance.

The item is just as described. I love it i can chop vegetables and use it for many other mixtures and blends.

As i believe other reviewers have noted, this is not a water-tight food processor. However, it works great for heavier sauces and solid foods. If you hold the lid down tightly, you can do thinner sauces with minimal leakage (remember to put the tamper in too. I make chopped salads, flours, and sliced veggies without any trouble. There are only two people in my house, so the size is perfect. If i were cooking for three or more, it might be a bit small. Note that this is not a high-powered processor. Sauces will not be the creamy smooth they are on your favorite food blogs or in cookbooks. They will be edible, but not great.

I read several reviews before i decided on this product and noticed many remarked on how loud this was. I did not find that to be true. Very easy to operate, clean and store. There is a space under the motor to store the cord so that it is out of the way. This is the first food processor i have owned that did not come with a plastic blade in addition to the steel blade. I wish it had one but hopefully the steel blade will work for making pie crusts and some cookie recipes i have. Only had this product about a month so if any problems arise i will be back to list them.

I got this from a local outlet store because it was only $16. Thought i would come on amazon and review it as i usually come to amazon for reviews for purchases even if i end up buying it somewhere else. It works reallly well and i would have given it five stars except for how loud it is. I’m pretty sure a jet engine is quieter than this food processor.

I use this more than my blender. It came quickly, it works properly, it’s easy to clean. I use it to chop veggies, i’ve tried to use it to make pie dough. You have to have super cold hard butter for that to work, which i didn’t know. But it works wonderfully for making banana ice cream.

This is such a great food processor. I upgraded to a larger one and couldn’t be happier. It is a quality product that works wonderfully. I feel like i cook so much more since i got it.

I had a b&d mini processor for over twenty years that i loved. A small piece of it broke, and i was unable to find a replacement part. I read reviews of ‘better’ (i. , more expensive) brands, and chose to purchase another b&d, as it had a grating blade. It is almost identical to my old one, but with a larger capacity bowl. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

This is the perfect size kitchen food processor. It works exactly as described and i am very happy with this item.

The first thing i used this model for was to make sauerkraut. There really ought to be separate slicer/grater blades, because this combination ‘shredder’ blade leaves large pieces and much, much, smaller grated pieces, and all sized in between. Iow, the pieces are not of consistent size. I also discovered that the food chute is not level with the top, so pieces get stuck between the bottom of the chute and the side of the cover. That means that every time i use it, i have to get a kitchen knife and clean out that small area. The other thing i think is odd is that the chute is at the back of the processor, so you have to reach across to put food down the chute. The clincher, the one real annoyance for me, is the 2 foot cord. I have to move the processor to the receptacle every time i use it, while every other appliance i have has a 4 foot or better cord and i can just pull them to the front of the counter, plug in the cord, and use them.

It chops and grinds quickly and quietly.

I bought this a few weeks ago and so far it has been worth it. It rices cauliflower and shreds zucchini and carrots in a matter of seconds. I’m planning on making nut butters and milk in the future as well. It’s incredibly easy to clean, plus taking it apart and putting it back together doesn’t take long at well. The only downside is that it’s so loud. I’m a little embarrassed to use it when people are around. But it works so quickly that it really doesn’t matter because the loudness is over in a matter of seconds. Okay, follow-up review: i love it just as much, if not more. I will never shred a sweet potato again.

I cut up my vegetables for homemade soups. I also cut up fruits and vegetables for twin grandsons. I rinse off parts and wipe dry.

Breville 800BLXL Die-Cast Hemisphere 2-Speed Blender : I asked for something like a vitamix

When our lower-powered breville blender gave out after long service, we first replaced it with a vitamix, thinking that was the best of breed — wrong. We found the vitamix flimsy in feel and unstable during use, and returned it to get this breville instead. It is a delight – handles a wide variety tasks with great efficiency, and i love the automatic turn-off on the controls, so that you don’t have to stand there watching it.

Very pleased with the product. The jar is large, and easy to clean. Best of all, the machine is powerful, so making smoothies with frozen fruit is a breeze. Only strange feature is the smoothie function, that uses alternating blasts of power – to chop frozen fruit – but after 2nd time through the cycle, it ends up shooting the liquid up the jar, totally covering the inside of the lid.

My brother is a serious cook so we tend to buy heavy duty equipment for him. This was the sturdiest blender we could find and he loved it from the start. He has used it numerous times over the past four years and it still performs as good as new. One star ratings because of perceived ‘pockets of air’ seem off-base to me.

I got this blender approximately a year ago after doing research and deciding i didn’t want to spend the money on a vitamix. Overall, i am pretty satisfied with the product and am happy knowing breville will stand behind their product. On the other hand, as other reviewers have said, there is a very obnoxious ‘air bubble’ problem that requires me to stop the blender constantly then shake and stir the contents. This makes making a smoothie a longer process than i’d really prefer. I’d say over 50% of the time i just take out my little magic bullet blender that gets the job done a lot quicker (albeit not as quietly as the breville).

I got this blender as a christmas present 2 years ago. I asked for something like a vitamix. I liked it immediately because of the power, how easily it chopped frozen fruit as my plan was to make frozen smoothies daily. I immediately determined that it was not as good as the vitamix because it did not totally break down greens in my smoothie but i still liked it for the price. Over time i started to notice that liquids would leak from the bottom. Now 2 years after having this blender it has gotten to the point that at least 2-3 ounces of liquid pour from the bottom during each use. This is disappointing because of course i am outside the warranty. Some reviewers have mentioned only removing the blade a few times a year, if i dont take the blade off at least every other use it smells. I think its poorly designed. Overall its been ok for 2 years but for the money i’d expect it to last longer.

Breville 800BLXL Die-Cast Hemisphere 2-Speed Blender with 67-Ounce Polycarbonate Jar : I have used it for shakes and smoothies and it really is efficient.

I love the one touch snow cone :).

The best blender i’ve ever owned.

This blender kicks a**my wife and i use the blender for smoothies and protein shakes, at least 2x-3x/day. We’ve burned our way through a couple of cuisinarts, and a few other lesser brands. This machine is rock solid, and crushes ice perfectly. Very easy to clean, and more importantly, very easy to take apart and put back together. Was a bit skeptical at first, given some of the reviews; however, we’re about a month into it and love this machine.

Every bit as good as a the ‘big money’ models, at 1/3 the price.

I’d not expect that it’s so quiet but mine one has different color of jar and buttom.

I have had this blender for over two years, i have also had the vitamix 6300 during a 30 day trial period and i would have kept it if i could justify the price and considering my breville could do most of the stuff the vitamix could do with some patience and time. Below are pros and cons and my honest review. Powerful 1000w motorbacked by breville, a well known company with a great reputation. Programs do what they are supposed to do. Options for blend, smoothie or ice (auto pulsate)lightweight yet durable container. Purchased for less than $200, half the price of a basic vita-mix. Easy to disassemble for deep cleaning. Replacement jugs and blades are cheap and can be easily purchased from breville. Cons:metal plating tends to peel, would love to be able to restore it.

This literally crush ice to powder awesome blender.

I have been trying to find the perfect blender for smoothies and some lighter duty kitchen work. It’s the best blender i have ever used. I was concerned that it would be super noisy with such a powerful motor, but was pleasantly surprised that it made no more noise than a standard blender. It was a breeze to use, crushes ice easily and cleans up easily. Highly recommend this model. Few things in life are ever worth what you pay for them these days, but breville has made a wonderful product here.

I got this blender for christmas and i love it. Obvious good quality and performs flawlessly. I love the very simple settings, which are automatically programmed to pulse correctly. Much easier to use than standard blenders with a zillion small buttons. I don’t know what to think about the user who’s blender ‘blew up’ and the user whose blender motor failed; i will report back if that happens to me. I have read the entire instruction manual; it does warn not to process heavy loads longer than 10 seconds. Any blender motor will burn out eventually under those circumstances but it’s always possible a couple of lemons made it through the manufacturing process. I hope that isn’t the case with this product.

I am very satisfied with this blender. The motor is very powerfull. The sharp blades crushes ice in no time at all. However it is taller than expected. The pull hole on the top brings it to the hight of my upper cabinets. Love the fact my smoothies come out perfect every time. Make sure not to over fill the jar. To much capacity may cause the lid to blow or over heat your motor. Had to unplug the blender and pore some out before starting again. The controls all light up at once and begin to flash; letting you know there is a problem. Saftey button on the blender and the breville juicer are great features. Had to use it on my juicer to turn it back on after a few minutes. After an automatic shut down.

I bought this blender to make vegatable smoothies. I find i can blend everything i put in it. I guess maybe the vit-a-mix may be better for some things but this works very well for my needs and the cost wasn’t out of the ball park.

The lid was too difficult to remove for my wife. Did an ok job chopping ice, but not smooth enough for our tastes.

Looks good work fine so far.

You wont be disapointed with this blender. I have tryed many others over the years and will testity of its quality. It has blended dozens of fruit smoothies for a year now with no problems.

This blender, quite simply, exceeds all of my expectations. Admittedly, i didn’t purchase mine from amazon. Com because sur la table offers me a substantial discount on all my purchases which comes in below amazon’s price and i don’t have to wait for shipping. I use my breville hemisphere daily to blend a healthy protein shake for my family’s breakfast comprised of a variety of powdered supplements (no chemicals or artificial anything, things like protein powder, powdered peanut butter, powdered super-food, true cinnamon (not cassia), etc. ), uncooked organic oatmeal, raw eggs, and almond milk. My last blender, a just-ok cuisinart cbt-500 i bought years ago before i knew better, routinely left me with ice chunks, bits of oatmeal, and the like. This blender delivers a perfectly smooth and velvety shake with hardly a trace of oatmeal, nothing else distinguishable aside from great taste, and especially no ice chips. Although i haven’t yet used it to blend anything else (we use our breville sous chef for the bulk of our food ‘processing’), i am betting i’d be highly impressed. Oh, and this blender is *very* quiet.

I’m writing this review because of my dismay at what some negative reviewers wrote. I’m not confident they have this blender. I bought mine 3 years ago and love it. I use it five days a week to make a breakfast drink of various cut frozen fruit and milk and i make frozen cocktails a couple times a month. This is one of the most powerful blenders on the market. All blenders are loud, but the pitch of the ‘whir’ is deeper than other blenders i’ve owned. First: it is beautifully designed. Without any effort, you just set the jar on the base and push a button and that’s it. You have nothing to line up or twist to lock; just set it down on the base. No worries about it falling over or the bottom falling out and spilling everything. No particles get stuck under the blades and there are no places for particles to get stuck inside the jar/blade mechanism. It is heavy and sturdy on the counter with thick rubber feet. It doesn’t ‘migrate’ at all.

J.A. Henckels 32565-260 ZWILLING Accessories Sharpening Steel, 10-inch, Black/Stainless : Top Gun

Needed a sharpening steel to dress some knives because the one that was with the set i was using had a nick that seemed to do more harm than good. This one works as well or better than any other i had use before.

This feels like a quality product, and it has the weight you’d expect a good steel to have. It makes a nice addition to my knife block.

Product is just as described, works very well. It is not a sharpener and i use it accordingly.

This honing steel is still keeping my knives sharp several years after purchase. Everyone who owns knives should own a honing steel. Remember, however, that this does not sharpen knives but rather simply sets the edge. There is a difference between a knife sharpener and a honing steel. Not everyone knows how to use one of these. My advice is that you look at a video on [. – there are several videos that demonstrate how to use a honing steel. ]

J.A. Henckels 32565-260 ZWILLING Accessories Sharpening Steel, 10-inch, Black/Stainless : It’s henckels, you can’t go wrong.

There isn’t much to say about this item other than it works exactly as expected. Before purchasing my bubba blade fillet knife (which by the way is the finest fillet knife i’ve ever owned) i sharpened my fillet knives with an electric sharpener. Bubba blade recommends that their knives are maintained with a honing steel, as opposed to constantly sharpening them. A few passes of the blade across this steel is all that is needed to hone the edge of my knife, making it ready to expertly remove the unwanted skin from speckled trout, flounder and redfish, which is my main desire in life. In short, the steel is made of fine quality materials and is extremely easy to use. I will probably purchase another one, just to keep for the future.

I cook for a livin’ and i have many honing steels, some at 14′ for my big knives and this one for my 8′ and under knives. I got this one in an upscale set of 4 starz and i do love it. As previously reviewed, it’s not for sharpening but used to maintain a sharp edge. If you use this properly every time you use a new knife then the factory edge will last for months if not years under normal usage. If you are collecting the 4 star line then this is a must, it is one of the most attractive steels made, the rockwell rating is harder than any factory production blade made, the grooving is crisp and it is a bargain compared to other brands. A must replacement for a lesser steel in most 4 star sets. It would be worth your time and money to buy the knife care video and learn how to use this well. An investment for your future enjoyment of henckels 4 star knives. We hand out 5 mojo*z for this steel magnolia.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this does not actually sharpen your knives in the sense that it won’t put an angle on your blade that isn’t already there. However, what this is great for is keeping your set of kitchen knives in good (and safe) condition. Note to novices: make sure to ask a pro or an experienced cook how to use a steel. If you hold the knife at the wrong angle, you may actually be reversing the effect the steel is supposed to have – realigning the blade to its sharpest position. Note 2: a lot of blades these days are made with the higher-end cobalt alloy steel that is significantly harder than regular stainless. All this really means is that if you have a good knife, you technically won’t have to use this every time you slice and dice, but it’s still a good idea to keep the knife in the best condition possible.

This one is identical to the one we had for over 20 years. We thought it might be time to replace it as the original seemed to have lost some of its effectiveness. After using this one, we were sorry we had not ordered a new one ages ago. A few swipes and you’ve got a nice sharp blade.

Works as expected, didn’t expect anything less.

There were some scratches on the handle, one was a little deep bad enough for me to send ot back. Other than that it works great on my new j.

I worked as a chef for 15 years before changing careers. Buying a new set of knives for home kitchen and bought this to replace an older well loved and well used steel. Used this one a few times and works great. Looks to be very well built and solid.

If you bought good knives, like the henckels four star series, keep them good by regularly honing the edge with a henckels steel. A few swipes against my chef’s knife keeps the edge keen and ready to cut. I struggled for years with cheap knives only to find that a good sharp knife is a blessing to a cook. So keep it sharp with a good steel.

The product is of high quality, and the price is more than fair. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Sure makes a difference when i sharpen my knives. I use a sharpener and then the hone great.

Love this item does not scratch my knives. When i first looked at it it looked like it will not sharpen my knives but it works perfectly.

Serrated edge helps left handed users somewhat.

The product is constructed beautifully. It has a nice weight, good handle feel and textured steel. The only problem is that it was sent without proper packaging, no instructions for usage and storage. Is there a warranty on the product?.

Tried purchasing a kitchen aid brand and wasn’t impressed with the sharpening.

Excellent product and transaction.

What else do you need to know.
